Wanna start a business with my friends (3 of them). We plan to have a partnership agreement before register a Company with SME.
Would like to know does it necessary to find a lawyer to draft a partnership agreement for us? Or we can just use a template found online?
How will it charge if we find a lawyer to do so?

Thank you

I think its pretty broad scope that you brought up there.

What nature of business? how complex are your share-holding/payouts/salaries?

If things isnt too complex, you may consider a simple alternative such as starting up the co. first, hold a GM, get it minuted where details on how director's share holding status and basic responsibility is, have it filed up, signed and everyone holds a copy, ori goes to co-sec.

If you plan on going bigger and have proper administration/management, then you may want to consult a lawyer.

You can even be a partner for RM1. The profit distribution part is the one that is more important.

Only advice can be taken from this thread was heeds your lawyer...
say one of them 3 were technical guy, growth hacker, or simply funds-based partnership, there's definitely a much wiser settlement

On a serious note, there's alot of repeating post on the very same subject in https://www.reddit.com/r/startups/
why dont you give it a whirl

I have seen some many sdn Bhd shareholder disputes due to success... Always do a shareholder agreement before getting in bed with your other shareholders.

If you really want to skint.. At least do a simple partnership agdeentb to regulate the relationship. Having said that.. If it is a startup beeyer to do it by way of sdn bhd

4 of you better sit down with the lawyer to trash it out. But I'm guessing it'll fail to even go that step bcoz non of you would probably agree to split on the legal fees
