I'm kinda keen to ask, since Malaysia is covered mostly by water, wouldn't it be better to fund more towards the navy and air force. (not cutting the armys budget or anything)

Why you guys love to talk about guns and bombs so much? You know what they are used for right? 80% of war casualties are civilians.
*
They talk about this.....but do they talk about using this to bomb here & there??? Its purposely for the deterrence & assurance of the country. Prep for war is to deter others to take advantage on u... u cannot run away from the natural behavior of human. They like to fight since human was 1st created.

You know, often 1 submarine has 2 crews, US Navy calls them Gold and Blue crews

1 crew on board, then 1 crew will be ashore, ambik giliran

2 Scorpene submarines x 2 crews = 4 crews total? Surely not...
*
Only SSBN has 2 set of crews.....not for SSN. we are trying to have 2 set of crews for a boat. Problem with recruitment.....

As always.

Okay, so it's more typical for SSBN. Then why are we trying to have 2 set of crews per boat? Simultaneously increase boat at-sea days while reducing crew at-sea days?

P.S. I notice Ph navy also want to have this 2-crew system for their Kilos. That's why I asked.
*
Initially, our sub project planned to have 4 set of crews, thats the reason we sent almost 200 to france for training. Reason is....to have more submariners in prep IF gov decide to buy more subs in short time....which is now, not possible.

Aussie also having prob with crews now

Just watched PASKAL The Movie yesterday. Thumbs up thumbup.gif

2 questions though.

1. Why the operators switch on the mounted flashlight for like 1-2 clicks when clearing the room? They already have NVG on anyway. Some more, isn't it with the direct and near light source will cause the NVG display to become too bright?

2. PASKAL really shot the pirate's mothership pilot during Bunga Laurel incident? Is it true story? I thought everything was settled on Bunga Laurel itself. Or is it something that is never mentioned hehe..

Anyway, when I saw LTZ I was like "I know that guy!" hahaha. Serius gila muka bro bawak sub tongue.gif
*
1. NVG still needs light source to work....thats the reason the light is till needed to supply the minimum light source for the NVG. And they are trained to see in this flash light also to maintain discreet.

2. Yup....mothership was engaged by the helicopter using GPMG & sniper rifle. I was told around 800 rds were fired towards the mothership. It was unknown what happened to the boat. No trace at all.... next morning the heli flew again to see any trace but nothing. We believed they just turned back after heavy fire from the heli.

a good read on how the accident happened

the tanker can see the warship even with its AIS turned off and pleads on the radio for the warship to turn
but the warship somehow cannot see the tanker heading towards it and only turned "a little bit" (even then they turned the wrong way) after hearing the tanker's radio
*
Understood..... why not port to port?? Might be not enough clear water on stbd side of the warship? But again...steering stbd also endangering other ships which also proceeding upnorth

the ship had reported that it was reluctant to go near the shore due to the shallow water
they dunwan risk a scrapped bottom i think..

From radar PPI, ships were navigating closer to the west side of that channel.... could be shallow on that part, instead.....she can choose to reduce speed or stop.
