QUOTE(azriel @ Nov 14 2018, 07:49 AM) https://medium.com/@cargun/radar-images-aud...on-a71e3f516b54a good read on how the accident happened the tanker can see the warship even with its AIS turned off and pleads on the radio for the warship to turn but the warship somehow cannot see the tanker heading towards it and only turned "a little bit" (even then they turned the wrong way) after hearing the tanker's radio This post has been edited by DDG_Ross: Nov 14 2018, 10:20 AM |

ukraine is on full alert
QUOTE Crimea: Three Ukraine navy boats captured by Russian special forces following firefight, service claims Ukraine’s navy has claimed Russian special forces have seized three of its ships in the Black Sea. Russia had fired on some of the Ukrainian navy’s vessels, hitting two small armoured artillery boats and wounding six crew members, the navy said in a statement on its Facebook page. It said the two ships, the Berdyansk and the Nikopol, were damaged by Russian fire. In a later statement, the navy said the gunboats were then seized by Russian special forces, along with a tug named the Yani Kapu. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/eu...t-a8651321.html QUOTE Russia Scrambles Warplanes as Ukrainian Navy Moves on Kerch Strait The sudden intrusion by the Ukrainian ships prompted Russia to deploy it’s naval assets, along with military aircraft and combat helicopters, in order to contain the situation which Russian Federal Security Service described as “provocation.” Russian military ended up deploying its combat aircraft in response to several Ukrainian warships crossing Russia’s territorial waters and attempting to pass through the Kerch Strait. According to a Sputnik correspondent, Su-25 attack aircraft are now patrolling the area in the vicinity of the Crimean Bridge which spans the strait; Ka-52 attack helicopters were also spotted tracking the movements of the Ukrainian ships. https://sputniknews.com/russia/201811251070...t-kerch-strait/ QUOTE Russia Blocks Kerch Strait, Scrambles Aircraft Against Ukraine Navy Ships A Russian tanker ship parked beneath the new Crimean Bridge on Sunday, November 25, blocking the Kerch Strait passage between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, after Russia said three Ukrainian navy ships violated its territorial waters. Ukraine said that a Russian coast guard ship rammed one of the Ukrainian ships traveling from Odesa on the Black Sea to Mariupol on the Sea of Azov. Both sides called the other’s actions provocative, and Ukraine said that Russia was violating a 2003 treaty calling for shared access to the strait. Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine in 2014 and has been increasingly restrictive on ships passing through Kerch Strait, the only sea passage between Ukraine’s ports on the Black Sea and its ports on the Sea of Azov. Russia also opened the 18-kilometer Crimean Bridge in May 2018, a bridge Ukraine says was built illegally over the shared waters of the strait. Russia also sent helicopters and fighter jets, seen in these videos, to monitor the Ukrainian ships. Credit: Ivan Zhegunov via Storyful https://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/news/nati...ine-navy-ships/ |

QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Nov 26 2018, 07:19 PM) The one at the top must be editorial mistake cause almost word for word repeat the bottom lel everytime the sub deploys out in the water its either ops or ex larYeah. It's a common media practice. You read any F35 article sure will tekan Face it, our Scorpene hasn't actually done anything other than be involved in scandal. I mean, it didn't even deploy on any ops or ex that is known of. Even US subs will have some notes in this regard. Not saying it is useless. Just saying from the POV of someone trying to write an article. even got multiple international ex ady with french, australia, usa some of the personnel have clocked 10k hours underwater on its operation even the news itself reporting of an ongoing ops wtf u smokin' dude? QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Nov 26 2018, 08:34 PM) by ops I guess I mean "high profile" ops, eg sometimes US will release statement saying USS whatever participated in anti-drug ops lel even in murica their subs force oni comes out in the news when its either got compared to other russian or chinese subs, they rarely or never even really talks about their opsby ex again I mean high profile ex with photo ops together with other nations and short brief about the exercises few such news of our subs which is well known, although this article itself is fairly decent this is all public media management, Malaysians memang know how to do this but only for politics and vroom topics ATM should hire some cybertroopers of its own mang cukur rmn subs pretty active in their involvement to train with international force compared to other subs force in the region, even compared to sgpore of cuz for a military "leaning" news outlet u shud check out airtimes.my their news is pretty centered around the military issue even one their top category is "pertahanan dan keselamatan" |

QUOTE ![]() UPDATED: U.S. 5th Fleet Commander Found Dead in Bahrain Vice Adm. Scott A. ![]() Indonesian soldier killed in separatist attack in Papua JAKARTA: A soldier has been killed in Indonesia’s eastern province of Papua where security forces are hunting for a separatist group suspected of killing at least 19 workers building a bridge, a military spokesman said on Wednesday. The killing of the workers is one of the worst outbreaks of violence in years in Papua, home to a simmering separatist conflict since it was incorporated into Indonesia after a widely criticised U.N.-backed referendum in 1969. Colonel Muhammad Aidi said the number of workers killed in the attack had been revised down to 19 from 24, based on the latest accounts from four survivors. The survivors were followed by separatist militants to a military post where a soldier was killed in a gunfight, Aidi said by telephone from Papua. “The TNI (Indonesian military) post was attacked on Monday morning by a significant number of the armed group using military grade weapons, as well as spears and arrows,” he said. Aidi said on Tuesday a construction worker who took a photograph of separatists celebrating what they consider their independence day appears to have sparked the killings. https://www.nst.com.my/world/2018/12/437503...st-attack-papua |

BREAKING: Police chief confirms 20 killed by Papuan rebels National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian has confirmed that 20 people were killed by an armed grouped linked to the Free Papua Movement (OPM) in Nduga regency, Wamena. "Based on current information, 20 [people have been killed]. Nineteen workers and one TNI [Indonesian Military] soldier died," he said on Wednesday. The workers were employees of state-owned construction company PT Istaka Karya who were assigned to build a 275-kilometer section of road to connect Wamena and Mamugu, which is part of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s signature trans-Papua road project. "After [the gunmen] committed a savage massacre on Dec. 1, they attacked a TNI post in Mbua. The post was actually built to protect the workers and had a force of 21 soldiers," Tito said. "It was attacked and the soldiers retreated, but one was killed." There had been conflicting reports of the number of people killed by the rebels, with police initially saying that 31 workers had died, while Istaka Karya president director Sigit Inarto said that there were only 28 workers at the location. QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Dec 5 2018, 11:15 PM) UN is also supposed to prevent this kind of rearmament by Hezb, but we all know its been ongoing for years mostly pr works but even if only in a "municipal" administration, it begs the question, what's the point of Malbatt then? msian base is pretty far from the border after all so not much happening there |

QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Dec 6 2018, 12:39 AM) Lulz indeed its a small detachment after all so they dun really need that much firepowerto the point where we downgrade to Guardians because Condors "appear too aggressive" what the hell is a Chinese engineer unit doing there... and Cambodian engineers too?! bigger detachment like indonesia really brings the heavy guns.. as they have had "unfortunate encounters" in the past |
