Technical can i play online using R1 account if, i have R3 ps plus membership?

currently got 12 months ps plus free 3 months netflix which im keen to buy. however, i use my R1 mainly for gaming.. is it possible for me to multiplayer using R1 main account if i have R3 ps plus ?
