Dear All,

I just bought Nissan Serena C26 (Year 2014) CBU a few month ago, a would like to ask for advice on certain things:

1) This is 1st time buying used car, my previous experience is with new Toyota (Altis & Vios), Perodua (Myvi & Axia), and Proton (Saga). Since this is my 1st time buying used car, I just changed the oil and filter and check on generally on the engine. Anything I should consider check for this specific model?

2) In my previous ownership, I sent all the cars to Official Service Centre for sevices. Should I do the same for Serena? or just service under tree shop? I'm curious about because if there is additional maintenance/service (performed at Service Centre) such as Auto Door maintenance etc. (I ask because the warranty of the serena just expired, so I could save some cost, but depends on the risk as well)

3) I notice the air conditioner is not so cold for this car (compared with my previous car ownership), I already sent the car for check at AirCond Service shop but found no problem. Just want to confirm is that normal? Also, is it normal that the water drop (i suspected from air cond) is quite significant compared to my previous car?

4) Where can I find a shop that provide accesories with good price for this car? My 1st priority is to add Spare tyre kit.

5) Kindly advise on other recommendation from experience owner.

TQVM...

Yup, I bought it from dealer.. I survery for C27 actually, but I kinda need the 8th seat configuration.. and save a lot of money, hence the used c26.

The car is still good and the difference between c26 and c27 is not that significant (for me at least).

No, the 8 seat one is just have a full seat for 3 people in the middle row compared with 2 captain seat.

I dont know about is it bumpy or not for back row, but my son didn't complain.

Spare tyre kit can purchase from TCEAS aka TC service centre. Just pay a visit and book the tyre kit in case out of stock..

My advise, send for 1st service in TC service centre and see anything faulty/broken from previous owner. Once settle, then the rest of service u can do it outside..

Do check when was the last time the CVT transmission fluid was changed, if it is more than 40k km ago, please change it immediately.

My father in law has a C26 yr 2015 CKD model, recently just got his gearbox replaced by Tan Chong F.O.C because he lodged his report about jerky response on low speed before warranty expires on 2017.

His car only does about 50k km so far.

Nissan`s MR20DD uses timing chain.

But specifically for Nissans with CVT, I`d consider changing the CVT fluid. Otherwise a thorough check at Nissan SC or like Wearnes Autohaus Service should be a good start to know the current condition of the vehicle.

Already back from the TC Service. Quite a lot wear and tear item need to be change.

The critical one is:
1) Battery: There is 2 batteries for the car. previous owner uses small battery for the big battery, that’s why the Hybrid/Start Stop idle function is not working. aisey... Just replace that one for cost of RM550

2) As per others said, CVT fluid is became a bit dirty (after the inspection), total cost of RM450 if I’m not mistaken. Haven’t change yet due to no stock. Need to order. (already booked for next 2 weeks)

3) Brake Pad for the back is already thin... So, need to replace for the cost of RM350 per set. (need to order also)

4) there is a lot of small2 item that has been affected by wear and tear. such as absorber and buffer etc. Will do it step by step with total cost might be around 2k to 3k as per TC advice.

Also, I found out the previous owner did send the car to TC a few times, but might be did it in kedai bawah pokok as well. but what surprised me is the mileage is significantly different.

My car is stated mileage at 80k. while previous owner record (his last sevice at TC) is on January 2018 is recorded at 160k... I was like WTF!!

Already ask TC how come, they don’t know, ask my dealer who sell me the car also don’t know.

The car overall is good, just need to replace quite few items that was affected mostly by wear and tear. but the mileage issue really makes me frustrated... sad.gif

80k different liao. but this is normal if we buy used car from dealer. cannot 100% trust mileage without service record. still dunno either dealer or previous owner tampered the mileage. if engine running good, no weird sound, no accident, u drive saja. u fikir banyak, nanti hati pun susah.

Tu la.. Grateful that the car is running great n no issue. But 1 of the factor i choose that specific car is because of low mileage, when found out about real one, frustrating jugak la..

Odometer can be easily adjusted.

To TS, at your last service at TC, what was the mileage written in your service chit / invoice? Did they follow the reading of the tampered odometer?
