Only on working days.
Dell SE198WFP 19" Widescreen is 6-bit TN panel. If i'm not mistaken only Ultrasharp model is 8-bit and non-TN panel.
*
Dell SE198WFP is TN panel? are you sure? hmm.gif Is that really bad if the lcd using TN panel? damn, there's no Dell showroom nearby my area, wanna go look myself.. doh.gif

is there any Dell showroom? hmm.gif

SE198WFP, Dell stated that as "entry model" means its using TN panel.

TN panel is just fine for the rest of us, just they have lesser color dynamic range and poorer viewing angle, but it really is just fine for the rest of us biggrin.gif

Only if u re those photographer that using DSLR, then IPS or MVA panels suits you better.

but IPS/MVA panel has longer response time, which is not so good for gamers.
*
i'm just being sarcastic.. of coz there's no Dell showroom at Malaysia except during PCFair. tongue.gif

about "entry model", Dell stated E207WFP and E228WFP as entry model not SE198WFP. Do u noticed entry model started with "E"? That's why i'm curious whether SE198WFP use cheap panel or not... hmm.gif

correct me if i'm wrong.. still learning to get the best value for my money... i'm a cheapskate.. laugh.gif

who has got a dell 22 incher? deciding whether to just buy the 228wfp now or save up till i have enough for the 2407wp-hc..

Gonna use it for my coming soon PS3, would it be able to show everything nicely?
*
get 24" if u going to use it for ps3. 22" is limited to 720p games only. cant display 1080p. plus 24" dell got component input and dvi(need hdmi-dvi converter).

to play PS3 or watch BD movie, a true HD monitor is preferred.
anyway here a great deal for 27"
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=12418369
*
meaning of true HD = capable to display 1080p. that is 1920x1080 resolution.

Even 24" can display that, no need 27" which cost more.. tongue.gif

there is no diff if purchased online or at pc fair... no xtra fee gift

only diff, is that your order is send direct to factory if you purchase at pc fair, meaning faster delivery.....

provided you pay by credit card/cash... if bank draft/cheque, still need to wait for it to clear
*
there's extra gift : usb hub.

and, i think order thru phone/online is faster than pcfair. Logically, your purchase at pcfair will be processed on the next day with lots of other pcfair customer. for phone/online, your order will be processed at the same day by appointed Dell representative.

QUOTE(Shin_ @ Aug 3 2007, 05:00 PM)
ordered at 1st Aug..evening.
Lydia called me up the next day.
Received my E228WFP 22"inch on 3rd Aug noon.

warehouse : penang.

not a single dead pixel.
but have no idea how to see what panel I've gotten.
bought the speaker as well. No complaints about its performance.
Good enough for me!!! definitely space saving.

p/s: never occur to me 22" will be this BIG.

And i just checked my temporary invoice they gave via email, my full name was not correctly spelled. Is it a big matter (for claiming warranty etc) ?

Their staffs at PCFAIR certainly do.

No they don't. DELL is 5 days a week work, certainly they are not some chinaman company who loves to squeeze every single juice out of their employees. But their dispatch delivers on Saturdays.
*
that means they will only read my email on Monday? hmm.gif

yes.. onboard TA690G shouldnt be any problem running at 1440*900 resolution.. nod.gif

If I'm correct... DELL only has one on one kind of warranty. The only thing is... most of the time you will receive a refurbished unit. or perhaps you mean money back guarantee??
And 5 feets is more than enuf to watch dvd.. dunno bout pirated dvds though. Theirs tend to be uglier sometimes laugh.gif
*
dell give money back guarantee? hmm.gif

Yes, but only for the first month during purchase. But you still need to pay RM80 for courier fees... smile.gif
*
wahaha, i managed to get a replacement without paying the rm80.. actually it was their fault.. smile.gif)

- i ordered on last friday at 2pm.
- at 6pm on the same day i email the sales representative asking for model exchange.
- this morning monitor arrived.
- sales rep called me about the email i sent to her last friday. too late to check that email.. doh.gif
- at 1st she asked me to pay additional rm80 as courier charge since the item already arrived but after negotiating, she agreed to exchange without paying the rm80... rclxm9.gif

Conclusion: Dell is the cheapest and the best post-sales customer service! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

yes.. if the output is widescreen, it will show on widescreen.. if your output 1024x768, it will remain 1024x768 without stretching the resolution to fullscreen.. leaving 2 black bar on both left and right side.
