Just went to a home fair in ipoh, after a few demonstration , the X750F sounds gooding with the android tv function, can install Kodi and acdrama. Now I’m stuck with 2 option, 65inch X750F or 60 inch 6800x.

As what I have been told, the Sony remote app can insert text in any languages via the app and send it to tv(not sure is true or not), micracast and Chromecast build in looks very fancy and convenient.

What are the difference between this 2 and does it justified the extra rm1000 for Sony since both android tv?

I have 2 models in mind. Either Sharp 4TC60AL1X or Sony 55' x750f. Which should i get or any alternative for android tv below 3k with the size between 55 to 60 inch.

I need to replace the old tv for my parents and the way my father enjoy the movies is he used to download the movies with pc and watch it by plugging a usb drive into the tv. So the more codec it supported the better.

Btw the oldman only prefer japanese brand so no Samsung and LG, and i have decide to subscribe netflix on their behalf.

Guys , just bought a 65 sony x8000g for rm3,888@5 years warranty to replace parents 10 years old tv.

After compared it between Sharp 4tc60al1x and Hisense B7700 side by side. Sony panel are way more natural and realistic compared to sharp and Hisense.

After the update to the new Android Oreo, the OS is very snappy and responsive and i dont feel any lagging at all. If u are familiar with android phone, the OS is pretty easy to use and customizable.

The previous Android OS is shit and buggy if you dont update it, takes like forever to load and yes it will crash and disconnected from wifi frequently. Now i know why ppl are staying away from Android TV because of the old crappy OS.

Sitting 9 feet away, the pqi and upscaling is very good for sdr and HD content not lower than 720p , 480 is acceptable and it works like a charm on netflix hd and youtube. Motion handling is good while watching sports.

I have to admit that after a long consideration between x7000g and x8000g, i have decided to go for x8000g because of Chromecast.

However i never got the chance to experience and obtain any HDR content for testing.

Hi bro. Seems like you picked the Sony over the Sharp huh. Some questions if you don't mind:

1) x7000g vs x8000g. You picked the android TV purely for the chromecast feature? Or are there other considerations. I'm not too keen to drop another 300-400 just for an android TV, especially considering I already have (an underutilised) one.

2) When comparing to the Sharp, did you happen to try and tune the Sharp to try and match that of the Sony? Anything else about the Sharp that turned you off?

3) Are you an android or iOS/MacOS user by any chance?

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like my wife shares your opinion on the panel. Would greatly appreciate your feedback! biggrin.gif

1) yes, i picked the x8000g over x7000g mainly is because the OS and chromecast. (As i said, this is a TV for parents. the chromecast and able to install VLC is very convenient for them to cast video or Music from phone to TV. try imagine you wanted to search something in mandarin or other language with the remote. I myself owed a 65'' NU8000 which i bought it from banhuat last year , cost me total 7k for 5 years warranty. You will not like it when you want to look for something in mandarin.

2) I did not mess up with the TV settings while testing because i bought it in an expo. But I did compare them with the same content, (netflix and youtube), I even bring along my own usb stick for testing. Sharp turned me off mainly is the colour. Some of the scene looks like crayon painting, i guess over saturated is the word to describe it. I hate the Sharp remote as well, quiet unresponsive when i tried it (enough to burn out my patience).

One think good about sharp tv is speaker, they do have a very loud sets of speaker.

3) My current gadgets are, Note 9 for phone, windows for Pc, Laptop and Ipad Air for tablet. I prefer diversification in this matter.
