just tested my xiaoai mini, it work but command must be in Chinese.
Also there are some lag in answering u after u post question to it. Maybe because we are in Malaysia and the command need to be searched for answer in China server so it is slower. (don know whether change DNS help or not)
anyway, at the price of RMB169 (ard RM110) it is a superb quality Bluetooth speaker with AI assist.
mostly i use it to listen music and control xiaomi device (air purifier, few smart plug for light, dehumidifier, electric cooker).

coverage is consider good as im staying in condo and it can be detected anywhere in the living room( i put the xiao ai in living room)

Hope the above help. icon_idea.gif

Yes, it’s helpful because my main concern is the speaker not allow us to connect to China server. Did u use QQ music to play song?

I have the xiaoai smart alarm

Quite laggy sometimes as need to connect to china server.
Sometimes controlling devices (i have xiaomi air purifier and roborock) got problem, maybe my internet problem. Once in a while can once in a while cannot

But all these are not important to me as I bought this to use as alarm not AI assistant. The brightness adjusting function depending on the ambience light is really neat.

Oh and for this since they're not selling internationally yet, so only can use china's timezone which is coincidentally same as ours. If go other timezones then you can't use it.

Can definitely understand my lousy chinese though.

Hi, I've bought the xiao ai speaker with infrared around Dec 2019. It can work on the command to control my xiaomi devices. But strangely after around end of January 2020, it can only work for voice command control of xiaomi devices after 2am might night and stop working after around 7.30pm.
Anyone having this same issue as mine?

Just bought the Pro version yesterday. Setup no problem, connect wifi no problem. Bluetooth speaker ok. Can setup all IR remote devices and my Yeelight and Philips Zhirui bulbs. The speaker app linked to Xiaomi Home app can control IR remotes in Xiaomi Home with any phone this mean those IR on the speaker works. Here comes the big problesem : It only respond to the phrase "xiaoai tongxue" and that's it. No more further c ommands. Play song cannot, ask what time no respond, Voice command on IR, Mi Devices also cannot. A Youtuber said need to use China VPN service baru can.

Ya it seems VPN is the way to go to fix it. Planning to get a cheap Mi Router 4C (around RM40) + a year subscription of PureVPN.

Have you managed to get around the issue? My device just arrived yesterday, yet to have the time to work on it. One question, can this Xiaomi AI speaker work on aircons that's not under the same brand? The IR blaster can on/off aircon unit?

Trying to setup the AI speaker pro but Xiaomi Home app can't locate the speaker no matter how many times I reset it.

XM home app is able to read my T500 toothbrush and Roborock S5 Max. Just can't setup the speaker. Anyone facing the same issues?

Did you try changing the location to Mainland China? Normally for China version, need to set to Mainland China.

Did you try changing the location to Mainland China? Normally for China version, need to set to Mainland China.

As in set the location for Xiaomi Home app to China? If yes, I will try it tomorrow.

Have you managed to get around the issue? My device just arrived yesterday, yet to have the time to work on it. One question, can this Xiaomi AI speaker work on aircons that's not under the same brand? The IR blaster can on/off aircon unit?

I installed another bridged wifi router dedicated only for Xiao Ai Pro with China DNS settings, no VPN settings yet then the voice commands occationally works. Especially between 5am-8am. shocking.gif
There are only 2 models can work with IR devices. Pro and IR Version. Yes mine i use to control room air cond, ceiling fan, TV, TVbox. Forbulb non IR i use Yeelight bulbs and Philips Zhirui bulbs. Setting up must use chinese 小爱音箱 App.

Trying to setup the AI speaker pro but Xiaomi Home app can't locate the speaker no matter how many times I reset it.

XM home app is able to read my T500 toothbrush and Roborock S5 Max. Just can't setup the speaker. Anyone facing the same issues?

Need to setup with 小爱音箱App. Then Xiaomi Home will automatically detect it. Both apps are linked.

Can be used. Just not by voice commands. Voice commands can be used only at early morning. Alarm works, play songs from speaker app works, as bluetooth speaker works, home appliances control from phone works. To those who consider to buy better buy 天猫精灵. But i predict sooner or later 天猫精灵 also become same due to heavy "monitoring". If u r loaded just buy HomePod.

One day in last month Xiao Ai Classmate system became totally unusable then 4 days later it came back online with everything working great 24/7 all features running flawlessly. It seems that Xiaomi had made a server makeover for the system. Thumbs up! When this system is totally up online at this price range of smart speakers it's way better than TianMao Jingling.

It work like normal infrared remote control just able to shoot 360 degree from the unit. No infrared can travel through obstacles.

I have been using 天猫精灵 for two months now without any problem.

But it is not as powerful as Xiao AI
