I suggest rubbing compound. But hard to find this stuff. Normally used to remove scratches on clear coat paints and polyurethane finishes. Works on plastic as well.

EDIT: doesn't work on deep scratches though. fine scratches only.

i assure you even 2000 grade sandpaper wont get you the original chrystal clear smooth look of acrylic if thats what u're looking for. u need those liquid abrasives or rubbing compound.
