but which region store are u set as? since GPU or game pass isn't available in Malaysia region right... right now I am set to US region and have US gift card USD20 - if I set backup payment as cc, they require a US cc.

i'm set to US region. for billing address i'm using US address. so far iirc MS rejected the transaction twice and most of the time the transactions is fine

Hi, I'm planning on buying a Series S and purely using it as a Game Pass machine. If I'm understanding correctly, the procedure to subscribing is:

1. Create an MS account and set the region, address, etc to US or any supported countries
2. Link a debit/credit card or paypal to the account
3. Log in to xbox using the same account
4. Purchase Game Pass directly through the xbox or buy codes from external sellers
5. Profit

Is this correct?

I also read that a phone number is required. Does it matter if I use my Malaysian number even though the MS account is set to US? Also, is there a recommend country I should set the MS account to besides US?

After reading my own reply, I realized I don't need to link any payment methods if I just buy Game Pass codes externally right? (Shopee, SEAGM, etc)
