If you want it now, you need to go to JPJ, you can search for the number you want there. Probably could get cheaper on certain numbers compared to ebid. Ebid is new, and only opened for few numbers up to now. It started with Putrajaya, then KL and last week or so, Kedah. Nothing for this week.

VDT is up for ebid auction this week, ends on Monday 23:59:59. No 2-9999, it seems no 1 already booked.

Sorry, my bad. It should starts on Aug 1st and not this weekend.

On how different it is with the old school method, I have no idea really. It seems that the number that go through ebid will be open as running number I guess. I couldn't see any VDN on the road other than on mine, that more than 3 weeks already.

If they're not available on ebid anymore, try the manual way or through mysikap. Checking mysikap, VDQ through VDV are available.

1. If this is a new number, go to JPJ and buy it under your wife's name.

2. Only main cawangan negeri, Maju Junction seems to be listed as cawangan, so you can go there.

3. You can now buy any plat numbers available throughout Malaysia, no longer restricted to state where the cawangan is.

Anyway, I went to JPJ Wangsa Maju this morning and the customer service told me to use mysikap, easier she said but you can always go to cawangan and see if your number is available.

Funny, yup, just tested it. Only VDQ numbers are available. The later prefixes are not available yet from mysikap although they're listed.

I am getting different answers from my search on the net and from words of mouth. How long can we keep the number bought through mysikap? Some say 3 months, some others said 6 months. I just bought the RAD10XX series and waiting for a new bike to be released by BS Honda.

Should have asked JPJ when I was there, but too excited after I got my login/password and seeing the number I wanted still available.
