Long time ago my friend explained to me this neat stovetop griller with ceramic grid at bottom to help letting out uniform heat through IR.
I could never imagine what was it until just now, I saw one in a Japanese film. So it look like this.

This is not new. Many many years ago I've seen this type. There are many types out there. At one time and probably now, more commonly found is wire mesh type that you put on gas stove. It will spread heat evenly.

I would not recommend the one in the picture. All dripping from whatever you grill will burn and stick to the ceramic net and hard to clean. The ceramic is prone to crack and chip off. You can search for heat diffuser or heat spreader, or maybe stove wire mesh. Putting a metal plate like roti canai pan also good but it will reduce too much heat. On top of the spreader, just use normal fish/barbeque clipper.

Its okay for my use. im not going to use it for meat/greasy grill anyway.
just need good mesh griller for occasional use, that is quick to set up and clean.
