PSP and Nintendo DS are both portable game gadgets but you can also play movies and music on them. PSP is more graphics intense whereas NDS is more to innovative gameplay. Both of them have their merits which can be found at this link with prices and some random info and flaming http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/447453 and http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/402350.

A cheaper alternative to game gadgets would be Gameboy Advance.

You can still play without Wi-Fi, though limited to games where you play alone. Wi-Fi is used for playing with other people either nearby or in some other place far far away. Both Nintendo DS and PSP have Wi-Fi which you can use at any Wi-Fi hotspot lile Starbucks or if you have a wireless router at home, there is some complicated way to get it to work with your gadgets. You can play multiplayer games with other DS users even without Wi-Fi with the built in local wireless connectivity. Not sure if the PSP has this since I can't afford it, so someone please clarify on this.

Btw, this should be in Consoles Couch.

from a current PSP owner, go for NDS if you like games that simple and light that can play anywhere anytime, if u need more than that..get a PSP suggested.

PSP weak on the game list other than this psp kinda good overall (NDS has better range of games to choose) try look around the forum..got a lot of PSP VS NDS stuff

If you are going for games and games only. I would suggest you go for NDSL
thats Nintendo Dual Screen Lite

But if you would like to watch movie, play games and listen to music ( In that order) get a PSP.

Both have pros and cons. I am an NDSL user but planning to get a PSP for Movie, some really nice graphic games and music

If you're into GTA type of games and want to watch movies on much-bigger-than-cell-phone screens, then PSP is where it's at. It also has much better support for music formats. Supports WMA, AAC and MP3 with album covers and various EQ presets.

If you want it mainly for gaming, then you need to decide what type of games you like.

3D action games or racing, psp is for you
Classic yet innovative gaming, DS is for you

from a current psp owner , psp ,well its good as it ables you to add acessories such as the chotto shot (camera 1.3 mp) , i duno if the NDS can surf de web. but i know psp can , its quite fast too. the psp design is sleek , beautiful.. to me that is . nds lite not bad too . quite stylish , they both are about the same , depending on the greed for needs . MARIO - DS METAL GEAR SOLID - PSP.
psp overall is better though i think, its battery lasted me 3-5 hours on games , while the wifi .. 3-6 hours .. music 9-12 hours .. (din test it ,but it shud be around this ) movie (approximately 6 movies (2 hour per movie) )
