I plan to buy either psp or nds lite to bring to australia, however I don't know which one to choose
here's a small list of each of them in my heart:

psp-
able to play ps1 games (ps1 emulator woot... tested on my bro's psp, very chun)
metal gear solid PO
ffvii crisis core (in the future)
more expensive

nds-
more game choices?
resident evil deadly silence
final fantasy iii
dragon quest ix (in the future)
cheaper

so hard to choose...

Coming from me, a PSP and DS lite owner, PSP has no games but ports lololol.


Stop being a squeenix jay-ARR-PEE-GEE fag. Final Fantasy series aren't really that great. The resident evil game for the DS reeks of poo poo. Don't play it. Fails for not mentioning all the awesome games the DS has in store, like Phoenix Wright (it's an awesome god in handheld form), Ouendan, Mario Kart, New super mario bros, Meteos, Puyo Puyo 15th anniversary, Metroid Prime Hunters, Castlevanias, Dragon Quest rocket slime, etc.


Get both. Problem solved.

is ur choice ... if u like the psp, u buy psp if like NDS lite, buy NDS lite...

I don't like mario games except the old classic mario since childhood...

I can't really get both, hence this topic was created

Does graphic really erally matters to you? Or are you a gameplay kind of person?

IMO, the DS will have a bigger and better game library in the future, and I think FFXII Agito something will be released for the DS as well.

Honestly, the PSP doesn't have that many games, and if you don't care for better graphics / media centre capability / emulation, and just want to play new games, get a DS.

If you want emulation/portable media centre, get a PSP.

Well, if you're into RPGs......... the DS has more RPG games than the PSP....... though its somewhat lacking in the action part, that is mainly for the PSP.........

Oh yeah, speaking of "action", the PSP allows you to look more "action" to your friends/colleagues.

Personally, I chose the DS for the games - but if you want more flexibility go for the PSP.

nope, i cant agree on this since ds also has lots of action games like new super mario bros, viewtiful joe, 2 castlevania.

Because my opinons are superior. lawl. I do play them RPG too. Started FF12 last month, now somewhere mid the mid game. Yes, some 2D sprite based expansion for FF12 would be out for the DS sometime soon (oh god I can be gay for Balthier on my DS too!)

For the portable media part, the DS can do it too. Just get a flashcart (bet most local DS owners would already have one), and it can do all the media stuffs the PSP can (mp3, pictures, video to some extent), minus the PC-PSP streaming thing, camera, gps, rss feed.

Buying a handheld console to show off to stupid friends.... right. You don't do that unless you're 12 or something.

And yes, just trust us on this: PSP has no games, DS has tonnes of new games. loads of your oh so wonderful RPGs on the PSP are silly direct ports (Breath of Fire 3, Magna Carta lol). Go watch some gameplay videos of some psp games and see if you like it enough to justify the puchase of one (watching promo vids of Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, DJ Max portable on youtube, and realising that one can play superior shooters like Dimahoo, Progear on a PSP via emulation made me bought one)

Anyways, iori57, if you want massive homebrew capability, FFVII Crisis Core, GTA, MGS, Tekken then go for the graphically more superior PSP. If you enjoy touchscreen interactive gameplay (ala with the stylus pen), Mario, Metroid, Pokemon, FF Crystal Chronicles, Dragon Quest then go for the uniquely interactive DS (Lite). Anyways since its hard for you to choose, why don't you get a DS Lite, then whenever theres a PSP game that you want to play, get it then play it on your brother's PSP? A win-win situation i have to say

Well, I was thinking action games is more like in the realms of Metroid Prime Hunters, Sonic Rush etc........ super mario bros/castlevania is classified more of a platformer game

Even if the DS have many action games now, not all of them are good....... the 'lacking' part I'm referring to........

But even if there isn't many good action games...... there's still the many RPGs to suck all your free time Iori57

I still can't make up my mind... I like graphics but at the same time gameplay is important too, arrrrrrrrrrr, now I'm tending towards nds though

since you mentioned you like ff series,better get nds. final fantasy 3 is out,upcoming ff games ff crystal chronicles,ff12 revenant wings,brand new ff tactics and dragon quest IX exclusive for nds you sure gonna have a good time

You will regret on lousy graphic at NDS.
