Not that sharp but is useful, i love it. Managed to capture many scenes that would otherwise be impossible.

Any comments on distortion? Is Asus algorithm do any good at correcting distortion?

How is the quality of the stock camera on the zf5 for good/low light. It had some issues early but I heard that Asus was good at updates and fixing user issues.

Just an update: I bought the following charger and power bank during Lazada's 12.12 sales.

LDNIO C407Q

It's light with body made of aluminum. Capable of fully charging my 5z from 28% to 100% in approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Doesn't come with a USB Type-C cable though.

Mi Power Bank 20000mAh

Tested it. Bought it with a free silicone cover. Nice powerbank that will quick charge the 5z but heavy and bulky for my needs.. Doesn't come with a USB Type-C cable either. Gave it away as a gift. biggrin.gif

My main phone is a Nokia 6030 bought in '07. Being resistant to progress for as long as I can but I finally gave in because most work related communication is now done on Whatsapp. Love to get a Nokia again but no FM radio on their current and future release models? Less value for money compared to Asus.

Since this is my first smartphone, I'm not sure how long before android phones becomes obsolete. Planning to use the 5z for the next 10 years.

I usually charge my 5z using my computer's USB socket. My question is; from personal experience will quick charging a phone frequently affect the battery lifespan?

any smartphone is usefull as long as it can be utilized by u, no matter how many years
but 10 years seems a bit too long
for sure new tech will come out in few years that is necessary and you will need to update on a new phone again
dont worry, it will be worth the upgrade

as for the quickcharge, it wont be any harm as long as you are charging it right
what i mean is to optimize your battery life span, these are some tips
- charge only when the battery is lower than 20%
- dont use the phone while charging
- charge using proper charger
- dont charge the phone on a hot/warm place

usb port on ur pc usually are 500-850mA output
(unless it is usb3.0 with proper power output for charging devices)
the quickcharge 3.0 charger (any 3rd party charger) should deliver +/- 2500mA

ASUS ZenFone 5Z’s Android Pie update begins rolling out in Taiwan

QUOTE
...
According to Fone Arena, Android Pie build with version number 90.10.138.157 is now rolling out to some users in Taiwan. Apart from the obvious aesthetic and functional changes that Android Pie brings, the newest build doesn’t seem to include anything original. Unfortunately, it still has November security patches. The update is just over a gigabyte in size, so keep that in mind when you get the OTA notification....

Brother, this is totally wrong.
Battery Management System (BMS) for lithium battery has different level of State Of Charge (SOC).
When battery is almost flat, it charge at 100% current flow in which producing huge amount of heat, and the heat causes chemical reaction and battery swollen in longer run.
The other way round, if battery is charged at around at 80%, BMS on lithium batteries accept low current flow from charger thus less heat longer life span.
In short, charge whenever u can since lithium batteries do not have charge memory.
