Adobe Premiere and Final Cut (Apple Only) are the most popular. But Davinci Resolve has been the new most talked about editing software.
If you're starting you can try Davinci Resolve. Its free and getting popular even among the industry professionals. |

Davinci Resolve is free to a certain extent. If you want to use the denoise function you need to pay. Although it is top notch quality, it is also incredibly expensive. You can't get it pirated either. If you're starting you can try Davinci Resolve. Its free and getting popular even among the industry professionals. Adobe Premiere is the better choice for beginners. |

Adobe Premier Pro CS6. Good enough for beginners, but if you want more advanced stuff. After effects is your answer

started out with davinci resolve.. but then, as beginner, I had trouble finding a certain transition templates. All templates that I wanted, all were for adobe premier. So, due to that, I jumped ship to adobe premiere pro..

Sony Vegas Pro 15...not the easiest way to start; steep learning curve, so are the other programs. Thinking of jumping to Adobe Premier or Final Cut.

I am using FinalCut. I have not met the editor better.
Before buying a MacBook, I edited a video at PinacleStudio. This is a good editor, but much less color correction. Maybe this is not particularly important for a beginner, but in the future it is better to master color correction to make the video more atmospheric. |
