I see a lot of homage to first movie, Claire going "RRuuun", the flare, the feeding of mosasaur like the raptor feeding in JP1. Seems like they really trying to evoke a sense of nostalgia.

pretty good movie...not a thinking movie like the first one. I remember the themes of man playing God in the first movie were very well highlighted through the dialogue. This movie, not much memorable dialogue etc.
the moments in the beginning when the I-rex first got out were the best for me, the suspense of it sniffing around the truck and hiding in the bushes etc. The kids to be honest were not as whiny as a lot of the reviews suggest. The girl from TLW would be worse imo. unfortunately one gripe i would have is the CGI dinosaurs still don't match the CGI of the first movie. Even when they decide to use animatronics here (the dying apatosaur), it's of inferior quality to the animatronics used in the first film. entertaining if predictable movie, but definitely better than 2 and 3 for me. Bonus points of Trex breaking through Spinosaurus skeleton as a giant FU to the 3rd movie |
