Hi guys, I'm one of the new owner of S41 bought from john yesterday ^^.
First i'll review the salesperson--Mr. John. Nice guy, better than those in other shop who acted LCLY and treat customers like idiot. However, it will make me happier if there is more free gift lolz! Next I'll do some short review on s41, Temperature - Medium hot. After some usage, the temp on left hand side will be quite hot. The adapter is extremely hot but it's normal. Speed - It's still consider so so for me. Able to do some multitasking wif 2 gb of ram without much lagging. BUT lagging and slow respond are still exist. However, it's definitely more responsive than single core processor. (Graphic review is below) Design - Ermm it's normal when u c the outlook. Especially the pattern they put on the cover is not visible so u might think it's black color. But when u open the laptop, everything inside is very nice ^^ Ergonomic - I hate the touch pad, it looks cool but it's located abit to the left which leads mis-touching when i'm typing. And i hate the way benq design the WLAN and bluetooth switch, when WLAN on it's blue, when it's bluetooth on it's amber, when it's both on it's purple, the color is so hard to recognize. And the ports and dvd rom location are extremely bad for me since i'm placing the laptop at the right edge of my desk. Benq's software - I installed only Qpower and Qhotkey which is very important for me. Qpower is not 100% compatible somehow, it's like it couldn't locate the address of the hotkey, everything is fine except it can't change the display brightness itself. While Qhotkey is lack of many functions unlike acer which has next, previous, play, stop, pause, turn off lcd. LCD - Nice and very nice. Extremely bright, i can live forever even wif the darkest display. Speaker - Loud but lack of bass. Forget about wat benq said about the SRS. Use the speaker only when u dun have external speaker wif u. Battery - Not yet test Last but not least Graphic Card - Dunno y it couldn't run 3dmark06 . error: invalid bitmap file. Maybe it's my win xp problem. 3dmark03 - 7899 3dmark05 - 4896 ermm, honestly john, ur free gift is abit lame... lolz... *peace* |

yup....dvd rom could my CnC 3 dvd at the first time, after that it couldn't read the dvd ever again. Whenever i put it inside, it'll has those weird sound coming out.
And one more thing, my Qpower when startup eats my 50% cpu for quite long time which makes my lappy laggy even though it's a core 2 duo! Added on July 4, 2007, 4:26 pmYo guys, do u found laggy playing C&C 3 in High graphic setting wif ur s41? Mine is quite laggy.... main bcoz of the gf8600GS not powerful enuff lolz.. QUOTE(Spiv @ Jul 8 2007, 06:55 PM) It happen soemthing like what we have now in wireless why we have pre-N or Draft-N where IEEE haven't even finalized the specification of Wireless N. so in reality the pre-N is a prototype and you may have problem in compatibility in the near future with the actual N. you might not get the full speed of the wireless N with other brand preN wireless. |

QUOTE(shenshenshen @ Jul 8 2007, 10:57 PM) i jus wanna ask...izit worth buying??....bout the quality and all....wats the OS? bundled together ar? .....and the design ? nice onot? Performance over price is definitely one of the best u can find beside Acer Gemstone 5920. No OS bundled, coz santa rosa platform + Geforce 8600 GS + 14"inch lcd it's impossible to bundle wif OS. Design is ok ok, u can read thru this thread and find some review by some of the users. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Jul 9 2007, 07:26 PM) I don't know in what way do you rate the laptop. But laptop audio surely won't be better for most laptops anyway lolz... i forgotten to state the pricing. But that shud be understood wat.... u can c my signature and most of the forummers here hv good knowledge wif computer stuff shud understand why am i saying that.... But according what you say, everything else is average apart from the audio and you are complaining that overall, unsatisfactory? Gaming, so so, you well duh, with the 8600M GS in there, it's not the best out there is it? Nah, I was being sarcastic. Because the way the poster said that how OS is "impossible" to be bundled due to Santa Rosa + 8600M GS. The sentence didn't made any sense to me. The way jeremy0 explained however, did make sense on the 4k pricing. But BenQ is no big fan of bundling OSes in their laptops anyways. This post has been edited by Jeffery: Jul 9 2007, 07:39 PM |

anyway, how big the difference between T7100 and T7300? Just 200 mhz more and 2mb L2 cache more per core, is that a big difference?

lolz... nothing is perfect even for 8800 ultra, i agreed. But ppl who chose this laptop for this kind of price, we shudn't complain about the CPU. Since only very demanding application will make us notice the diff ^^
