Definately is not heat issue. I suspect it may eitehr be mother board or ram. How it happen is you just do work half way then suddenly everything will go blank. No chance to save or error message.

I went to the shop where I bought the RAM from (i recently trade in my 512 for a 1GB) and they say they can check for me, but I need to give them the RAM. But if I no RAM how to use Laptop...? So tak jadi.

The idea is to get the S41, and get the S72 repaired, and like all lousy boyfriends, give it to the girlfriend to use...

The issue was so bad that the other day when I tried to reformat my laptop, it can't even go past the stage where you need to press F8 when installing Win XP. Once reach there will go blank liao.

seriously cannot reach 3 hrs wor... i set the cpu lowest, brightness lowest, mute speaker, BT & wifi turn off, disable PCMIA card reader, webcam, firewire and modem (it's working last time wif my acer laptop to disable these thing) can get only around 2 hrs 30 mins to 2 hrs 40 mins

A quick comparison with the previous laptops I have owned before...

USB Layouts - Wished some of the USB are placed the the back, cos now the working desk look very messy with wires coming out from both sides. (S72 had 2 at the back) No doubt I believe Benq designed it this way is to make it easier to plug devices. Save money to buy USB hub...

No multimedia buttons - Only have buttons for Qshot and QSurround (didn't even install the software for this one), which are not really useful. The S72 have 4 buttons, 2 of them programmable, 1 for web, 1 for email. I wonder by installing the intellipro keyboard software from microsoft will allow us to progam the Qshot and Qsurround button. Will try later...

DVD-ROM - I guess most of your guys had fed back on this. A lot of sounds when reading the discs. Makes we worry of scratches or worse...!

But overall, very happy with this laptop! Performance is top notch, heavy softwares like illustrator and photoshop runs smoothly. It really defines 'multi-tasking', thanks to it's dual core, I guess. I don't think this unit's gonna be outdated soon. Hopefully can last 2 years.

John, hope you get better and look forward to doing more business with you. May consider getting a projector in November.

asss of today, july28, 07, the dvd reader crapped on me.
can't read past 2gigs of data on every freakin dvd.
Sure as hell i can replace it myself but not with the warranty
sticker in the way! So me only choice....
sending in to service centre and see what they say.
First true test of their customer support and see if i need
to grill them for a replacement. I dun live with faulty equipment
like some sissys do.

Anyone knows where to get s41 windows xp drivers?
I need to reformat my computer as I got infected with Logo1_.exe virus

if u can read ur s41 driver cd, means they won't replace it for faulty hardware
