about cooler, I've been using Zalman Notebook cooler. Got 5 ~ 8 degree diff from ordinary...

I used Everest Ultimate to check temp, around 44 ~ 49.....

and my room is not air conditioned, just normal Malaysian Temp...

John, I got this really annoying prob with my S41.

It became more and more serious in time, and its taking my life apart....

The display will fail and recover in random times.... Sometime it will recover, and most of the time it will just stay blank. can't even do anything. In this state my S41 will be in hang state...

I got a temporary solution, that is going for Power Saver mode, but this also don't guarantee the operation. If I'm lucky, I can work for about 2-3 hours, if not, not even 10 minutes... it will go blank, and crash...

When I tried to uninstall the nVidia driver, the problem perish. but without graphic driver, life is dull....

Tried reformat, but the same problem appears. I suspect heat problem, but it is the same weather i used cooling pad or not.

I will send this to you in after my finals (2nd week next month), as I have a lot of study materials in here....

Is the graphic chip problem here?

but still the prob persist...

even tried format to new, it stills happens.

now the display just blanks even before entering Windows. right after it boots up, it will show some fancy lines.... black, red, white.... and then blanks.... or sometimes, all white....

will send the laptop as soon as possible to john.... maybe this weekend.

p/s- now i'm hijacking my housemates laptop... you guys should see his face....

already send it to john this afternoon.... he said i have to wait for 2 weeks...

bummers... saperated from my love for 2 weeks, good thing i still have my desktop. hehe.

john, the data inside is still intact right? got a lot of my study materials in there, also, some other things...

last time i do a full backup is 1 month ago, quite a lot of new files since then.. haha...

about 2 weeks ago...

back then it was still as simple as crashing while playing heavy games.... then it become crashing while playing 3D games (heavy or not, high setting or low)..

then it became i can't even work when in vista aero mode.... then finally, no display at all...

i forgot the bought date already, maybe 28 or 29 june 2007. 3 / 4 days bafore my semester starts. now my semester only left less than 1 month.... guess that i really torture my lappy to be rosak so early...

my final exam juz finished this morning....

i was happy when john said it will only take 2 weeks to repair.....

so far when the 3rd week appeared, no news about my lappy, my final exam starts... now after 1 months, exam finish, lappy still in some ICU ward..

now my sem finished,

Actually called, saveral times.

John's Assistant said that it wasn't my Display/LCD prob, he just said that the prob was actually my Motherboard. I think somewhere late October when i called. At that time, he said just waiting the motherboard to arrive at the service center or something like that.

Now i really hope that I can get back my lappy as soon as possible, going nuts already without a PC....

Cybercafe cost a lot, but the net here is really slow!

john's assistant said they changed my mobo already....

Sent it directly to BenQ Drop point at Ground level, So far no estimated time when the hell i can get to work with my Lappy.....

If only i got the Moolah, i think i'm gonna get myself Dell XPS...Intel C2X7900, 8700GT SLI, Agea PhyX, 4GB DDR2, 250GB HDD.....

Aoshi, u just waited 3 weeks, i have to wait for 1 month, then got back my laptop, then just 1 day use, it juz went crazy again....

now, its almost 2 weeks(plus 1 month)....

If only my budget were higher back then, i definitely bought myself Toshiba laptop.....

Something really wrong with my display...

it will turn to blank or most of the time, the whole screen will have horizontal lines.

my preemptive method is using Balanced or Low performance power profile, but it wont even guarantee the usage time of my lappy. Had to shut down it periodically, max usage 1 hours, then the lines will surely show....

if i put High-performance power profile, it only can go stable for 1-2 minutes.... dem....

seriously, if i ever need to send this thing again to the SC, sure i'll follow irenic's footsteps and buy myself a dell instead.

from what i hear, their service is far more better and faster too. not to mention less prob than any other brand....

other driver not listed in here you can use the one that they give in the driver disc. there are driver that work the same even in xp or vista.

haaa... i only watch many ppl in envy, John, is there a way for me to upgrade the HDD?

I think of using lower 80GB HDD but the faster 7200rpm HDD is better than using 120GB but slower 5400rpm HDD
