hey guys, performance increased again. I changed the GPU driver to the latest one and OC to core 575mhz, memory 777mhz. 3dmark06 in 1024x768 res 3849 marks, imagine Acer 5920 with 8600M GT without OC reach only 3200 marks ^^

Game update again. Without OC, s41 able to play nfs pro street at 1024x768, all high, shadow med, 2X AA at 22 to 25fps (lag at lobby but playable during race). After OC at same setting able to play at 30 fps biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

OMG! The server problem made my post gone.... nvm... I'll post it again.

Basically i changed my GPU driver to the latest one. Now OC GPU gets 3849 marks for 3dmark06 at 1024x768 which is able to beat 8600M GT GDDR2 without OC. (Previously OC gets 3502 marks at same setting)

For need for speed pro street, s41 able to play at 20 to 25 fps at All high setting, shadow med, 2X AA at 1024x768res. If OC at same setting can play 25 to 30 above fps. S41 gonna pawn this game lolz.

hey juz realized at if our baby s41 can score 3dmark06 for 3849 marks, then it's a performance of 8600M GT GDDR3 (without OC of coz)....

i still dont have the answer. so i ask here again:

1. our BenQ S41 can support till 4gb ram? (2gb x 2)
2. can we use DDR 800 for our baby?
*
4gb ram is definitely possible but i not sure win xp will detect how much of the ram, as for vista 32bit , it detects 3.5gb ram only.

For using ddr2 800mhz ram, it's definitely possible too ^^ coz our baby supports it but it's too exp and not value for performance. biggrin.gif

someone saying tat s41 has BSOD issue.... is it?!

Gosh... john did put both same model ram for me... sigh....

Guys i tried to OC my CPU this time, it can reach 2.0ghz stable. If can i change the ram latency, s41 has potential to be OC from 1.8ghz to 2.5ghz.... by tweaking the FSB from 200mhz to 275 mhz which those taiwanese doing...

ya.... for cpu OC i tried b4 but to change the ram latency and do further CPU oc (which potentially go to 2.5ghz...) i havent, since i have no idea how to tweak it wif SPDtool....

thx for babyrabies's info, our baby s41 GPU can be oc to 3dmark06 -- 4029 marks at 600mhz core 900mhz memory.

Let me review the previous results:

3dmark05 (older driver)
500/700 - 4896
575/777 - 5605

3dmark06 (older driver)
500/700 - 2784
550/760 - 3018
575/777 - 3130
575/777 - 1024x768 = 3502

3dmark06 (Latest Driver)
575/777 - 1024x768 = 3849
600/900 - 1024x768 = 4029 ! WOW! Crysis is coming over! WOW!

From 2784 marks, s41 can actually jump to 4029 marks.... pls calculate the diff... it's 1245 marks! crazy! It's even surpass 8600M GT GDDR3!

Something really wrong with my display...

it will turn to blank or most of the time, the whole screen will have horizontal lines.

my preemptive method is using Balanced or Low performance power profile, but it wont even guarantee the usage time of my lappy. Had to shut down it periodically, max usage 1 hours, then the lines will surely show....

if i put High-performance power profile, it only can go stable for 1-2 minutes.... dem....
