Dennō Coil (電脳コイル, Dennō Koiru?, lit. Computer Coil), Coil - A Circle of Children, is a Japanese animation science fiction series depicting a near future where Augmented Reality (AR) technology has just begun to enter the mainstream. The series takes place in the fictional Daikoku City, a hotbed of AR development. It follows a group of children as they use illegal AR visors to unravel the mysteries of their half real, half Internet environment. The world displayed in the AR visors contains games, virtual pets, and also internet viruses. The children collaboratively interact with and reshape the digital landscape using software tools.

anyone caught this yet? subs are out already!

Dennou Coil Spoiler - Anime Blog , and the only guy i know on the internets who's blogging about Dennou Coil. It's faster than Ureshii's subs , so you might not want to be spoilt on the later episodes.

also , some good explanations from wikipedia

one thing to take note is that the animation and colours aren't supposed to look top notch. But the meshing of digital and cyberspace with real life is a selling point for me.

it's only the first episode but already a lot of cool things take place.
like how you hide from the Search sphere (Kyuu-chan) by drawing a chalk(?) circle and standing inside it

like how the inventory bag resembles the ones in digital MMORPGs , the fishing rod being pulled out of a pouch

the burning question now is this:

Well, i watched it. Wat i can say is thier animation and colours are great, atleast better than crappy Sola n most low-middle budget anime. (I wonder why u say it doesnt suppose to look top notch though). goin to drop few anime for this one.

I'm quite surprised by the story line, very interesting and this really offers a different taste from GITS.

It's very good at tempting you to watch the next episode as well because it's not easy to predict what is going to happen.

i believe the rumours are true , of 4423's soul trapped in the cyberworld.

probably there's an illegal or corporation that steals the spirits of those who become aware of the inner workings of the cyberworld. You know , those with Imago ...

yerp..i do think its true...amasawa's brother...the one yasako met a year b4, i think, its not a real body....i meant, yasako met with virtual one. maybe he's trying to tell yasako his real body is in the hospital in room no 4423?

talking abt illegal,
kanna pet's turn into illegal rite...
on latest epsd, 16/15, yasako talk with a human shape form of illegal (can talk smmore).

i do think this is human soul/human virtual body who got desynchronize with the original body. maybe real body already dead/comma, but the virtual one still exist. do u think there's any posibility kanna's virtual body still exist smwhere?

erh, did u guys get wat i am trying to say?

Google is my friend.

Otoshidama is something like angpau for the japanese given during new year's. So the kids spend their money on these glasses and always refer to it as "x year's worth of ang pau money". But nyiabeh restoring the glasses is expensive or is this megabaa's currency? (6 million yen is actually 600 yen)

i doubt it can fit 1 dvd unless you left out both the recap episodes. But yeah, it's probably the BEST anime this year. On par with Gurren Lagann for me.

i'm hoping it will be licensed , i will definitely buy the originals.

sounds so cliche, but it rings so true.

i really hope that the story's message will carry on for all the kids (this anime was targeted at young viewers, like around 10-14 yrs age) who watched this.

as well as a timely reminder to the rest of us smile.gif

a true classic , i must say. i'm thinking of burning the whole series onto DVD and giving it to some friends.

i doubt it can fit 1 dvd unless you left out both the recap episodes. But yeah, it's probably the BEST anime this year. On par with Gurren Lagann for me.

i'm hoping it will be licensed , i will definitely buy the originals.

i used 2 dvds because i realised episode 14 still needed, if only for the last part where Nekome talks to Haraken.

the plesiosaur was one of the best episodes! what are you talking about ? it served to show that Illegals weren't all bad, some of them had feelings. For a kids show, it helped kids to better understand that you cant judge a book by its cover, not all Illegals were bad unless otherwise proven.

or are you just ashamed that you cried at the end? tongue.gif

Just finished it. I cried manly tears of ronery. sad.gif

I wonder if my imouto loves me as much as Isako. sad.gif

You know one episode Isako was blowing up Saatchis with her Imago then she never demonstrated that power again later. How come?

2.0 is stronger n beside everytime she uses it, she goin to hurt herself, thats why Isako doesnt wan Yasako to uses that technique as well.
