Would like to ask. Is anybody using any of these phone holders? Do they hold the phone without any issues of the phone holder getting loose and doesn't stick on the dashboard, with the whole thing dropping to the floor?

Which one is better?

Do not stick on the dashboard, it will drop, unless you use glue. instead, stick it on windscreen.

Thanks for the tips man. Was a bit late to reply as was engrossed with the recent political scene as messages keep bombarding my Whatsapp. Our ex-PM is surely quite memalukan at the moment with all the recent development that's popping up on the media, from being blacklisted by the current PM from leaving the country and dropped as Umno president to the raid of Pavilion condo where the luxury handbags bought by Rosmah were being transferred to (one handbag is reported to cost RM200,000 and she's got dozens.. Yikes). Sorry got carried away.

Since you have mentioned this, I have dropped both these phone holders from the purchase list. I've tried an almost similar type of phone holder by sticking it onto the windscreen and it still fell off the windscreen onto the floor once in a while, together with the phone, apart from slightly blocking the view of the road. In this sense, I have pretty much ruled out phone holders which stick to the windscreen.

I've ordered this one instead. I'll try it first and see how it works out. If this one still ends up on the floor, guess I won't be using any phone holder inside the car after all.

This type of phone holder looks interesting. Might try it someday as I don't quite like those fancy and bulky holders which stick on the windscreen.

Talking about handbags, our neighbour's Ho Ching appears to be quite modest with handbags, carrying one which costs about RM45 only, likely from her own pocket-money (no pun intended).

I got No. 1. The base lock became loose after few months of use - or rather few weeks parked under the hot sun. Now the thing will fall off easily.

Thanks for the heads-up man. You saved my day as I thought of trying one of these phone holders. Since they will also drop on the floor, guess I"ll just scrap the idea once and for all.

For everyone's information, I am using this phone holder now shown in the picture below. It will stay on the dashboard of your car provided you don't do the following:-

1. Abrupt hard braking
2. Taking corners or bends at moderately high speed.

The thing will stay on the dashboard even if you drive considerably fast on a straight road. However, the holder together with the phone will drop to the floor if you do any of the above.

saw this and contemplated. but judging by how malaysians (in some cases) drive, abrupt braking can't be avoided.

checking holder that use the cd holder but that will inevitably cause wear and tear to the holder in the long term.

those fixed to a/c? my a/c outlet is small. with a phone blocking 1 outlet, that's almost 50% a/c got disrupted. more so now is damn hot.

so how ah? any advice? i only need to hold the phone for navigation. not answering calls or anything else, btw. drive safe mah

There are several types that I used before that have some space between ac and the phone, so allow for air to flow. however now I am using this - basesus wirelesss charger, damn convenient

This is interesting. I've got the phone holder as above which just sits on the dashboard instead of one that comes with a suction cup, either stuck on the dashboard or the front windscreen. When using the phone holder which just sits on the dashboard, the only way to ensure that it will stay on the dashboard is to drive sensibly without doing any fast cornering or sudden abrupt braking. The phone holder is in a way promoting good driving habit.

As for phone holders that clip to the air-cond vents, although I have not tried it, personally I am not inclined to since the weight of the phone (depending on the size and model) plus the phone holder that is on the air-cond vent, chances are the plastic piece of the air-cond vent that is clipped to the phone holder may break in time with the force that the phone holder is putting onto it.

Get those hooked up to you Aircon vent. Your phone will run hot and baked under the sun. Keep it cool or it will damage the battery in the long run

Windscreen mounts are useless regardless what brand from cheap unknown to Ram Mount.

I opt for modified cup holders with windscreen mounts. AC vent mounts also ok but don't put heavy phone on it. The vents will crack.

Been using the iOttie 3 for quite a while. Reliable a bit pricey but never once a loose suction cup.
