Wow, that's far from exchange! are you sure?
Because I didn't face any problem for local speed around Wangsa Maju area.
Just i'm being capped for certain international links based on hours.  sad.gif

strange huh? that is what TM premier team told me. When i ask them why i was connected to exchange with so far away distance, he told me wangsamaju exchange is the nearest server to my area.. rclxub.gif

i think that is the reason why they're now implement the migration of certain users from wangsamaju exchange to a new server, which need to wait completion until early October. sad.gif

Man i really hope this exercise will one-off resolve my slow connection issue (not only international, as well as local links)

But need to bear another one month of slow connection, haiz... doh.gif

thats what the tm premier team told me also.. I'm staying in jalan kuching and also connected to wangsa maju exchange. I guess all our fibre optic lines for 4mb are connected to wangsa maju. then congestion there... especially at peak hours? sucks isn't it?

But the issue is that some people are also connected to wangsa maju exchange too (also 4mb) but they are not having the same problems as us. I guess there could be 2 sets or more of exchange in wangsa maju. I was told my b-ras is WMU2... i guess WMU1 was not selected for the FUP trial cause my friend's connection is up full speed.

plus the iprange he was able to connect to are more and different then ours. I'm only able to connect to 218.111.12, 14, sometimes 0 & 23. while he gets like 17, 18, etc where currently no routing problems.

Tmnet mentioned about server migrating? why dont they just get a new server at the exchange, set it up ready then get us on there. at least get the 4mb liners up and running first since premier ma?? nonsense la tmnet
now have to wait until after raya? crazy... i wouldnt count too much on rebate though, cause they just keep quiet and pretend nothing happened

I was also told a new and different IP address would be implemented soon, dunno when yet... so expect another set of hiccups too...
*
Exactly same like me (the bold part). Only get the ip as mentioned by you.

I'm not sure what TM staff means for server migrating is only applicable to be moving to a totally new server elsewhere, or still connected with the new created server at same exchange (i'll ask them again if got opportunity).

Whatever it is, i just require a consistent connection speed, regardless of during peak/ off peak hours...In fact the rebate issue is also not a priority for me, i only demand a consistent speed, that's all.

here's an update:

After my slamming letter to tmnet's help and mcmc (i quoted both the report no with tmnet & mcmc), i told them about the issues about WMU2 slow speed if compared to WMU1 & WMU3. I told them how bout the do a test for me. change my BRAS from WMU2 to either WMU1 or WMU3..

suprisingly they were willing to do it for me. and there you have it. my speed although not back to normal fully, i was able to connect to at least 2.5mbps. Although the IP ranges i was able to connect is still the same (seems easier to connect to 218.111.0 & 14 for now). I just tested it out at 5.15pm just now (considered to be the start of peak hour)

the real test would be night time, when the real peak hour starts. will keep you guys updated.
*
Pls let me know you testing outcome.

I may be asking them to change for me if you get a good speed. Thanks! notworthy.gif

why waste time and energy going to tmpoint?

Shoot a mail to tmnet help and copy to MCMC, they will be the one calling you back the next day..

Just got an update again on my case:
migrating is indeed in the works cause wmu2 is congested. as what you mentioned Sean. you are right, only sometime in october it would be ready... heck of a long time.
*
arggg still back to square. Lets hope the migrating exercise can really solve all the issue at one time...lets pray..

anyway thanks for the update shermeister notworthy.gif

just a update to your guys who affected by the recent connection slow down issue and connected to wangsamaju exchange.

i just received a call from premier CS that today they have start migrating those affected users to a new server and expected to be complete on this Sunday (13/09). They ask me to observe the connection status within this few day to see got improvement or not.

So for those who are connected to wangsamaju exchange (particularly 4Mbps user) you can try to check this weekend see the line is stable or not.

Cheers.

i just upgraded my line to 4mb..and was told by them that i wont be contracted.meaning i can terminate my line or downgrade back without paying any charges..also no need to pay any fees (installation) , just the rm160 every month.is that true??
*
i think what they mean is that you won't be contracted temporary coz for 4MB package TM need to send technician to your house to test whether it is stable or not for the connection...if you got unstable connection, they will help you to downgrade back to your previous package without any charges.

Just that the installation fees one is hardly to say. Coz mine one TM did charge me coz sending over technician to check SNR setting and etc., in which they consider it as "installation fees". Though some forum members are getting rebate of this installation fees from TM afterwards...

Here is a piece of advice , use reverse phsycology. I did this as you do all know that my line was capped at 1Mbps/256Kbps for 2 weeks

I called up TM , and explained that 'I don't care about your international speed , give me my 4Mbps. Thats all I'm asking for. A lady made a report , got the number. I decided not to call for another week (as I wanted them to give some room)

Waited for one week and no call. So I rang up and I said to myself that its about time. So I spoke with a guy , I was being polite nor I did push them as I truly understand that they are fasting. There is no point of me to shout at them as they are doing their job. So , they put me thorugh their premium CS and they did manage to fix it

This is how I do , I give them room and call em - whilist some of you are just bugging them day and night. Its not going to work , you gotta be friendly and learn how to tackle to get things done for you. For instance instead of saying OMG , I pay 4Mbps and I get 1Mbps , just say that its not fair at all , and tell that you aren't bothered about International speed , so on and so forth. You gotta learn how to talk

As for no contract , there is no such thing , youll be renewing your 12 month contract , unless you opt'ed for Streamyx 4Mbps without Combo

ya i know i'm a little bit inpatient but you know at first i was very politely call them and listen to their explanation on why my connection has been slow down to 0.2-0.5Mbps everyday since end of July. They said will investigate and call me back for any latest information. So i wait and wait till 15th of August there is no improvement so i decided to take my initiative to call them ask for the status.

You know how they response? They said they don't have a clue on why my connection is so slow and blame on the APCN2 cable failure to lead to traffic congestion. Then i told them i was testing connection in KL server, not via international server, how come the local speedtest still show a extremely slow connection? I have to wait ages to open a local website, why my so-called 4Mbps is even worst than 512k package? Then they said may cause by another reason probably is the server problem. Ok fine i accept the explanation and again they assured me that all will be back to normal after 24th August, where the APCN2 cable being fix (their 1st announcement during that time).

Then i wait again..until 31st August the issue still persists. I have no choice but to call them again. You know what they say? they said, "tak mungkin la bang, saya check report ini dan sini tulis kami baru lepas you daripada capped trial exercise from Wangsamaju server semalam. You sepatut dapat balik your speed by today." WTF? every time i can get a different reasons?

Can you tolerant with this kind of different excuses/reasons from them? i know a lot of forummer here called them monkey staff, but for me i just feel pathetic. Again i'm not shouting on them through phone, but begging them to help me to expedite the restoration process. Then few days later a TM guy called me and told me they will perform migrating of affected users to new server and expected to be complete on early of October...

Then today a TM lady called me told me they just start migrating exercise by today and expected to be completed by Sunday (13/09) - so which one should i believe, the previous one said on early October or the latter?...i have nothing more to say as they can give you 1000 reasons whenever i receive a call from them/ call them to ask for status...lets wait and see how the connection will be within this weekend...

Just to share my personal experience and take note that start from the issue arise until now i was politely talk and begging them through phone, but still i'm getting a lousy connection... sad.gif
