I think there is other Asus zenfone threads, but let's this be for this specific model.

Can't wait for it to hit Malaysia!

If priced competitively, it could be a popular model and compete with the likes of Redmi Note 5.

Let's just see which camera module they bringing in to Malaysia and whether it does support Quick Charge 2.0 like redmi note 5.

If I want to get, I will also aim for 6gb ram version.

Camera wise, RN5 Pro is much better (especially for low light), based on YouTube reviews.

Another negative point for M1 is also the slow finger print sensor, however I read it was fixed with an update.

Anyway, what attracts me to this M1 is the 5k battery and Pure Android UI.

Let's see the price when it's launched here.

im using lenovo p2 which is kinda pure android, it lasted me at least 5h sot with at least 40% juice left
whatsapp,fb,gaming, 4g all the day (2bar signal), surfing the web

i quit rooting since i got my p2.. its much smooth than my old note 3.. lol
damn right.. and its not that thick... i mean there's ppl who wan flagship lvl phone and does not mind extra thickness for battery capacity
*
I actually wanted to buy the P2 last year. It's spec is great to price ratio.

Why wanna change to this M1? How's the P2 doing?

Good move by Asus.

They purposely launch end of May so that without GST, they can offer it at lower price.

Assuming original launching price is RM 999, now can sell for RM 939. Or maybe 899 hopefully hehe.

Speaking of other Asus products, I still have the Nexus 7 tablet (sim enabled) bought back in 2012 for RM 1099, I still remember. It was a hot tablet then due to its cheap price to spec ratio at that time.

Speaker kong within first year (didn't bother to send in for warranty), slow charging (maybe cause I used to quick charge). Other than that, it still runs GTA: Chinatown Wars perfectly.

Now am using it my ebook reader. Battery still can get 3 hours SOT, due to its 4300 mAph battery. So it's important to get high capacity battery, so that even many years later (like in this case 6 years later), can still use if you want hehe. And it's still smooth cos it's Vanilla android (another reason to get M1).

Those who really committed to get this device, better get all necessary accessories now as the shipping from PRC would take more than 2 weeks usually... This is where AliExpress and Taobao play their roles...

However, the price for all accessories for the early bird is not that cheap compared to 3 months from now...

Not sure whether unboxing reviews got mention, whether inside the box got provide free casing..

Edit: I checked, seems like no free casing provided. If anyone have any good links for case, can help to post here for the benefit of those wanting to get the device smile.gif

For Indian variant (ZB601/602KL) the TPU casing is replaced by gimmicky "passive amplifier" box...

For global variant (ZB602KL), TPU casing is included but without MaxBox amplifier...

Hope we’ll get the casing instead of that gimmicky amplifier cardboard

Cool. Hopefully get the casing too.

GSMArena has not done full review (most probably will not because of mid-range level...)

Eager to know where ZMP M1 will be in this list...

GSMArena Official Battery Chart

My hypothesis is 130 Hour...

Look at Nokia 2 with Snap212 SoC... Doing great so far...LOL...but lose to Redmi Note 4 (same 4,100 mAh but 5.5" screen)... this shows that Snap625 is the most energy efficient SoC ever made currently...
*
I think Snap 636 will be better than 625. Hopefully can get more SOT with pure android and 5k battery

Doubt it. Usually will be after a week or so.

On the bright side, no GST affer 1st June smile.gif

And also not sure whether they will launch the 6gb ram at the same time or later. Hopefully Asus launch all model at once.

Must be from this thread at Kopitiam

It was temporarily available on Lazada before taken down.

Hopefully it's true, then the 6gb version can launch at RM 899, then will get the 6gb version hehehe

From Asus Lazada, seems like preorder for 4gb variant, ETA is 3/7. Means if pre order only will get in July? ohmy.gif

Attached Image

And no free TPU case. Disappointed. Will be hard to find for casing now since it's still very new. At least a free TPU case would be great.

Well honestly, kinda a little over hype for this phone (with all the adverts and promo way before the launch, plus now have to wait until July to get 4gb variant, plus have to wait until dunno when to get 6gb, so it's just wait wait wait. They should have launched all 3 models straight)

Am gonna wait a few more months to see any price drop, and wait for others to use and review it first. Not gonna go for 3gb flash sales.

Yup so it's a waiting game.

Not sure why Asus launch without ready stock and limited info on 6gb variant.

Probably hooping to cash in on 0% Gst hype and raya coming.

Will wait for more users review first then see how.

Actually ZenFone 5 is not a bad phone after all, albeit the lesser 3300 battery but with USB type C.

If price drop to rm 999 in future can consider hehe
