Contract Eternal Asia RMA Department, have your serial number ready, they only handle warranty for the drive distributed by them.
If not covered by them, have to send to Singapore (I think).

Did my RMA 2mths back, without receipt, just send them the drive and will contact you when new drive is ready.

For me, whole process is ~2wks.

Call them, they will ask for the drive's serial number for checking.

I sent mine directly to their factory in Penang.

How I did mine(years ago though, so kot sure the same now) :
- go to their website and check your warranty status
- then ask for rma. They will provide the step by step instructions
- I pack in a small box with some protection and ship it out WD

WD portable hardisc is crap. I bought one back 2014, few months later it couldn’t read. Sent it back for warranty claim. Had to wait 6 month to get a new one, but the new one also malfunctioned.

New replacement could not be used at all once I inserted the cable to my Mac. I gave up and bought Seagate. Still using the Seagate until now since 2015. Honestly speaking, I do not recommend WD at all. I bought WD at Lowyat Plaza and claimed warranty from the local distributor at the top floor in Lowyat Plaza as well - sorry I dont remember the local distributor name.

I remembered reading somewhere.. if want to use with MAC, need to format the hard disk (something like that)..

But.. 6 months replacement is too long... the following up, calling, going to lowyat (cannot imagine how tedious)

I did not follow up at all because my data all lost made me gave up with WD, so I immediately bought the Seagate during the waiting period. I did follow the instruction how to format but WD is a crap! I recommend you to give up on WD as such, go out and buy another brand.

Yes, at the front it just has Seagate logo and at the back is written Seagate Backup Plus Portable Device, Assembled in Thailand. I am satisfied with it.
