Does diploma in finance / banking and finance required additional maths skills ? And does anyone know what is quantitative methods ? Is it addmaths or modern mathematics?

If quantitative you probably need pure maths.
Just normal finance you will probably need add maths.
But either way the pre u course will have. Gooduck with integrals lel

Simple add maths.

You can master in few lessons if you are average student.

of course, to a certain extent. You need to know algebra in finance to calculate interest rate etc but not too sure if it is required at diploma level.
the good news is that more complex add maths such as calculus is not needed if I am not mistaken.

quantitative methods should be basic introduction to mathematical models such as mean, median, interpreting graphs and so on. It shouldn't be too hard if you understand the concept and idea behind it.

Obviously, look at the course requirement
But tbh, finance really need add maths , even if it's not part of the requirement

you plot a graph of time against speed, and from the graph you want to know distance travelled from time a to time b
the answer is the area under the curve , from a to b
you can either find the area manually, or integrate

no calculus, even if there is, it's not in depth as in engineering

U ll learn those along the way.
CAGR mathematics is not modern maths. Its quite complicating if u didnt do add maths.

Need quantum physic yo

im from accounting n finance

you need to count the standard deviation of how alpha, beta and gamma affect the fiscal and monetary policy which will simultaneously affect the financial market of the local country. Depends how the management of company react to the events but it will cause a slightly effect to the statement of financial position, statement of profit and loss and other comprehensive income and the statement of changes in equity.

In short, quantum physics is an essential subject in accounting and finance

quantitative methods in finance ie treasury means usually derivative pricing methods ie Monte Carlo simulation, pde, stochastic calculus . from fund management perspective, markowitz portfolio theory as a bare minimum. as usual disconnect between such courses offered here and what local banks actually need. jist ask ur lecturer has he/she ever worked a s a REAL quant before.just stick to the basic diploma in banking and finance. quant space is dead in kl. local banks don't need quants, they prefer derivative sales ppl ie focus is on margin business with low capital cost..
