Nowadays so many got straight a’s n high cgpa.. If u participate in a club / join some group competition it will show u are not just a book person, u can work in a team, can find solution not just in a book or google.. yada2..

And high scorer usually think they too good, prefer work alone, stubborn n don’t really ask senior etc..

It depend on the job actually.. some job, ok being robot worker.. some need more people skills..
