QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Jun 9 2018, 12:15 PM) Thanks for the information. Hi Bro, have you changed the speaker already ? Which brand and model you went for ? I think I will only go with coaxial speakers because I don't want 2 tweeters on my dashboard, and a subwoofer is too much. I'm not looking for like next level sound quality, I just some something less flat. Stock speakers on Iriz is really potong stim. I have my eyes on this https://www.edifier.com/my/en/car-audio/g65...nt-car-speakers But not sure if the speakers fit on Iriz or it needs some modification on HU. Add: How do I check the maximum output for Proton Iriz HU? I checked with Edifier and according to them, they do not have any speaker model that is plug-and-play with Proton Iriz. All of them need certain level of modification on the door panel that needs to cut open a hole for the speaker. Is that the case ? Maybe sifus here can give me some idea which brand and model are PnP with Iriz door panel ? Look to go for passive component speaker set + active underseat subwoofer. Any recommendation ? |

QUOTE(azyune @ Jul 24 2018, 01:25 PM) Truly PnP need 6" speaker set. Unfortunately it's unpopular size so rarer to find major brands carry this option. I've seen pioneer to have it but no extensive line ups choice to pick like common 6.5". Local brand like Mohawk do have one marketed especially for iriz. But 0.25~0.5" difference is not that much to have to resort to cut a hole... I know as I myself use 6.5", they only use plastic spacer then drill new screws few mm's apart. I don't mind if it need to use spacer or drill new holes for screws since it's covered. But they're telling me there is a need to cut the door panel to install the speaker. What I'm worried is that the speaker is too thick in size, hence it will need to cut the door trim to allow the speaker to pop out of it. Anyone know what is the dimension of the original oem speaker on Iriz ? The speaker I am eyeing is 166mm on the widest, 90mm on the magnet side and 65mm thick. ![]() |

Bro, I think this seems like a HU issue rather than the speaker issue. Seems like the HU output is unstable ? The loud and soft only appear when using FM ? Or when using CD/Bluetooth also ? Still need to drill if buy those speaker? My current stock speaker sometime will sound high sometime will low again Will it solve that issue if i install this speaker or need to change Head unit? Mine is 1.6 cvt exec But don't quote me, just guessing. |

QUOTE(azyune @ Jul 29 2018, 05:30 PM) Oh I did not check the dimension (sorry can't help with that) but my 6.5" is average entry level set, not some SPL-grade with obvious oversized magnets. The installer have no problem with fitting it, only need spacer to bring the unit a bit forward for magnet clearance. No cutting anything done as I observed the whole process. Thanks. Very informative photo. Front: 6.5", Rear stock 6" ....Not much difference isn't it? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This not so sure where they actually made it with 6" or 6.5" with adapter accessories included then simply slap it with car model sticker in hoping the installer know what to do So you swapped the front stock 6" to the back and installed new 6.5" at the front ? Is it a Iriz Standard ? If so, need to lay additional wiring to be back ? All your speaker powered from HU or with amp ? This post has been edited by WjLye: Jul 31 2018, 12:56 AM |

Hi Sifusss, anyone did their audio upgrade without tapping original manufacturer wire?
Possible to use any harness to connect in between? Went to accessory shop to change speaker and before I realised they already tapped the wire and they say upgrade speaker sure need to tap wire. But I've seen some connector/harness on Lazada before. Wonder if it's possible. Coincidentally, 2 days after my audio job, today when I tried to start the car, the aircon and windows both kong. Aircon no air at all, not even blower. Windows all 4 cannot move. Worried if it's cause by the audio job. :'( |

QUOTE(khairilyazit @ Aug 11 2018, 11:24 AM) Change speaker only? Or do radio also? Changed head unit and speaker. Usually if change speaker the cut the end of the stock connection near speaker. Probably bad ground on the connections they made.. But headunit I made a point not to tap original wire, so they found a socket for the wiring. But when change speaker, I notice they tapped 2 wires before a socket near the bottom of A-pillar. What I meant is, where a bunch of wire connecting into a socket, they cut 2 wires out of that bunch and tapped the wires. |

What I meant is, where a bunch of wire connecting into a socket, they cut 2 wires out of that bunch and tapped the wires. It's the brake lock. The brake lock had a socket to disable ignition if the brake lock is not unlocked. SC disconnected the brake lock socket harness and connect the original socket to IG directly and problem solved. |

Hellow fellow Irizian,
I remember seeing someone mentioning about changing stroker kit to upgrade 1.3 to 1.6. Anyone have experience in this ? Does it affect the original ECU or need some tuning/piggy back ? Does the engine check light lights up constantly after upgrading stroker kit ? Any dyno result before and after ? Fuel consumption before and after ? Most importantly, still maintain the stock look in engine bay ? Can tell without dismantling the engine ? |

QUOTE(annas473 @ Apr 10 2019, 03:24 PM) Stock doing great for me so far at sepang trackday. Yo what mods have you done on your car ? RM300 from sc I'm thinking to have others better options for the amount i paid I bet Iriz will be fun for track day but just haven't have the courage to bring the small cc (1.3 MT) and low powered car to track day. Care to share more about your track day experience ? What about consumables ? (Engine Oil, Tyre wear) Thanks ! |

QUOTE(khairilyazit @ Jun 23 2019, 02:34 PM) Yep confirmed. Manual no rev limiter at 3k RPM. Can rev all the way to 6.5k rpm QUOTE(Sh@rty 5 @ Jun 23 2019, 02:54 PM) Is this the first gen Iriz from 2014-2017 ? Cause my 2018 Iriz Refined, 1.3 MT Standard have some padding behind the door panels, albeit not the full-fledge soundproofing. |
