In the last thread I saw suggestions that TAA should be dropped in favour of Clyne for CL final. I disagree with it. TAA has been monumental in the previous CL games (Remember when people said Sane will rip him a new one?) and one poor game doesn't change that. It didn't help yesterday that the atmosphere was intimidating and Liverpool was on 2nd gear.

With a well-rested full team, my vote still goes to TAA. My expected starting 11 for Kiev:
Karius, TAA, Lovren, VVD, Robertson, Hendo, Milner, Gini/Can/Lala, Salah, Mane, Fimino

Speaking of starting 11, Robertson has been impressive of late. Remember he was playing for Hull City last season and now he is playing in a CL semi like a seasoned pro, unfazed by the pressure.

We just couldn't live with pressing for full 90mins. Have to manage our fitness level and be selective when and whom to press. Conceding 2 goals to below average team after 70 mins is considered norm for us; RMadrid could easily come back from 5 goals down if we are not being careful. That's the thing. Must make sure we can keep the same thing going for 90mins.

Physically it's impossible to keep pressing for full 90 mins. But mentally, the will to win the big-eared cup might lend the players some powers. But but but, this is RMadrid, defending what they could legitimately claim as their cup... They would definitely come up on top in the battle of will.

I'm sure every time they pass in the direction of their left channel my heart would skip a beat...

A.Madrid tried that 4 years back, we know how it ended; Juve thought they forced extra time. This is why I dont think "get the job done in 70mins" would actually seal the deal. If anything we should know no lead is big enough not to slip, especially for us.

They are up for their 13th overall, and 4th in the last 5 years, with just about the same group of players. What guard down, we are the underdogs dude. They have all the advantages except the pressure of being the favourites which they are perfectly comfortable with...

I'm usually optimistic but I prefer to be realistic when all facts point to that we are the massive underdogs.

We havent done whatever we have done to Porto, MCity & Roma to RMadrid. Doesnt mean we won't be able to do it, but let's show them more respect, they have earned that. They found it hard in the Liga because Ronaldo was not fit & firing; it's different story in UCL, it's like the anthem rile him up.

sturridge had one good season.. one.. in his entire career.. (mostly due to Suarez n Gerrard supply).. and for that one single season, the English media gave him a Superstar status... but trust me, he just another overrated, overhyped english player. plus, he's a professional "hospital patient" who occasionally plays football. I was overjoyed when the club finally decides to send him away.
