Tested the ROG phone. Steady 60 fps even after 2 hours, and this is without the use of the cooling fan attachment.

The overclocking and the vapor cooling is no joke.

Air trigger wise, I am still used to the claw setup end up not using them. And also the triggering area is too deep into the phone not your usual comfort r1 l1 button placement so can be slightly tricky.

whats ur graphic setting bro?

HDR+Ultra+Realistic+Anti-Aliasing ON????

Show ur RoG Phone with the graphic aswell, no screenshot please, wanna see the phone with the setting through other camera lens please.

are u using the fps indicator to show that u have constant frame rate without the cooling fan?

Im consider to buy RoG Phone or Razer Phone 2 right now. Damn.

I'll do it tonight.

But why do you wanna play hdr lol. Shadows and all only blurs your vision.

I measure via the built in indicator, as well as game bench.

owh..i thought u're on HDR setting..ok bro, dont forget ya biggrin.gif

its my preference tho, dont called it a gaming phone if it cant handle constant frame rate

phone with that kinda monstrosity spec should be able to handle such graphic intense game.

i better buy a mid range phone if i wanna go for balance or smooth setting biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

i understand, thats my question, with that kinda "3d vapor chamber" and highest clock-speed among the rest of sd845, can this RoG phone handle PUBG with HDR settings like mentioned for an hour or even more with constant frame rate, get what i mean bro? biggrin.gif smile.gif

If you play on extreme, it's capped at 40fps only.

Textures and graphics rendition aside, 60 fps is more tolling.

And I don't understand why youtubers out there is constantly using 40fps and hdr as benchmark.

So for my personal testing that suits my personal gameplay, without having to muck around with gfx tools. 60fps for two hours, this is the first device I have tried that has not throttled, iPhone xs included.

I know, i mean come on, just for the sake of testing, cause im consider buying the phone. Could u try to play with gfx tool (using dummy account) and unlock extreme with hdr setting, i just wanna know ur experience with hdr extreme, can it sustain 60 fps constantly with or without using its external cooler fan.

Okay testing done.

Now. If you play on smooth extreme, you will be able to get a stable frame rate of 60fps, with occasional drops to 58 fps. This is recorded without the use of aerodynamic fan, in a non air conditioned room.

If you play on hdr extreme, you will get 95% of the time frame rate fluctuating between 57-60 fps. When the phone hits 44 degree, which is about 25 min game time, the cpu will throttle abit. Every now and then u get stutters to 40-47 fps, and within seconds it climbs back up to 57-60fps. It's not going to affect your gameplay. Just for stats sake.

Things are not much better with the fan, you will still experience similar throttling at about 40 min, note that this is on high fan speed all the time. Good thing is, a game ends max 35 min. So let it rest a bit and you won't experience the ever so slightly throttle.

But the battery gao gao. One game at least 15%.

I guess the result would be the same as running PUBG mobile Timi version right bro? Temperature hits 44 degree C, frame rate start to fluctuates.

The surface area of the vapor chamber is actually quite identical if not the same between both phones.

Now here are some comparisons:

ROG runs on an overclocked 2.96ghz SD845, while razer 2 uses the standard one.

ROG runs on 1080p equivalent, and razer 2 runs on 1440p native.

ROG has a nickel back plate, and from my experience it does direct heat to the area for dissipation while keeping the glass surface at most warm. Razer 2 full glass back.

So all in all, I would say the razer phone 2 should not have any massive performance upgrade, unless, they have the prowess to demand for better optimization from Tencent.

What's worth mentioning is, at the price point you are paying for a supposedly "premium gaming smartphone", you are getting the best out of it. These little discrepancy will not affect your gameplay la. So try not too hard in the journey on getting the perfect smartphone, it will not guarantee chicken dinner. My friend is in conqueror rank with his redmi note 5. Improve your gameplay, not your device.
