Only for xbox 360, with HD-DVD add on, the new software update is available now, buit, in order to activate it, U needs play your HD-DVD movie.

Pls takes notes, thay u have to make your changes in the HD-DVD display menu not under the console settings. Press the DISPLAY button on your remote and then go to DIGITAL AUDIO SETTINGS. Defaults are DD and DRC off.

It is advisable, to set the DRC (Night Features) Off, and DTS & WMA Pro format now are available for your listening pleasure. And the most important updates is no more serious sounds related problem with the current released of HD-DVD. Takes note again, if u do have the new HD-DVD calibration software from Digital Video Essentials, it will only works once this update is installed.

Good Job, Microsoft thumbup.gif

haha i actually posted abt this in the hd dvd player thread, but somehow it kept on registering as an "added on" post, hence not updating the thread. biggrin.gif

anyways...

one thing i noticed though, there's a new hd-dvd networking support option...where the description says you will be able to download trailers, stuff from the net into the hd dvd player.

hmm how do we go about doing that ey? is this like a title-specific feature (via link in special features or something), or something that we can navigate using the player itself?

the only thing i know is the 192mb space on the player is for bookmarking purposes.

hmmm hmm.gif

Finally hooked up the player again to get the update and the first scene I tested was the first explosion scene in the movie Swordfish and oh boy, you can really detect the improvement! thumbup.gif
