Hi.. anyone knows what's the problem with this.. I have to enter a pin to format my pvr. I tried 1111,2222, ..., 9999, it said incorrect pin. If I tried 0000, it didnt said incorrect pin but simply nothing happen..

I'm going to call astro soon, but before I do that, who knows maybe someone can give me a quick solution..

Finally, I got my pvr replaced. The new pvr is same like the old pvr, except the new pvr is 30% LONGER.
The decoder is supposed to be free (except i have to pay the technician RM61 for his service). This is the new pvr,
which is same but much longer than my older pvr.

Just for knowledge sharing

Before replacement, I opened up the pvr (the smaller one) and inside it was a 2.5" sata
hard disk. I replaced the hard disk with my own 2.5" hard disk, but apparently, my decoder was faulty not because of the
hard disk alone.

Yes.. it still have analog output (yellow, red, white port).. As for the new pvr, I dont plan to open it up since it has a warranty and it has a breakable sticker that says 'warranty void if broken'. The older pvr has no such stickers.

must be the dish alignment is off already... You need the signal meter to align the dish properly..

how's the sd quality for non-hd channel? Never once in my life my family members complaint about the sd channel until i changed to astro ultra. It looks like a pirated vcd quality to me..

I'm surprised that you're surprised.. because telemarketers for astro will tell you all that conditions before asking you whether you agree or not..
Anyway, maybe in the future, astro will sort that licensing issue..

I experience the same thing. After switching to astro ultra, I feel something is not right coz all channels (except uhd channel of course) looks worse to my eyes. I thought it was my own perception, but suddenly, my wife scolded me for changing the decoder. She said all channels now looks so bad (compared to older decoder).

Your HDD is corrupted. Your symptoms are same as mine. Cannot record, pvr functionality not available, no VOD. I reported to them and they gave me a new set of astro PVR. Problem solved. At that time, astro ultra did not exist yet.

Be aware about the warranty. If you are out of warranty, maybe got to pay for the new pvr. Ask them in advance about this.

Easy.. it's because your 4k tv is an old model, that supports 4k 30Hz only. Which means it only support hdcp v1.4 and hdmi v1.4.
Newer model of 4k tvs support 4k 60Hz, which use hdcp v2.2 and hdmi v2.0.
