May I ask.... I have two old decoder (RM50 supp accounts)...

Is it possible to change both of them?

Main account - 4k ultrabox now
Supp 1 account - PVR Decoder
Supp 2 account - Sister house (different address) normal decoder

thinkng to request new HD box for Supp 1 and 2 account... Do they need a valid reason to change? or I can simply request to upgrade?
thankyou

Astro Subscription Rate Card - October 2022

Too confusing/complicated to understand the rate card above?
Here are my version of their rate card:

Do note that the rate card you see above, are the original/retail price of Astro packs.
The "heavily discounted prices" you see on Astro website ( https://product.astro.com.my/TV ) is likely offer to targeted customers only, such as new Astro customers.

8. No Contract option costs up to RM25/month more expensive compared to 24 month contract option
Compare between 0 month vs 24 month contract option, the difference in monthly fees would be around RM15/month to RM25/month higher.
For 0 month vs 12 month contract option, it’ll be between RM10/month to RM15/month higher. Not only that, a one-time installation fee and/or activation fee may apply if you opt for either 0 month or 12 month contract option too.

Thanks... Basically I won't upgrade due to this clause even though I'm with astro since 1998... Really not happy with auto contract renewal
thankyou

The problem with this statement is no one really will read all the fine prints and personally I find this unethical.

Let say even if you read, you still can't say no and forced to sign.. I believe Unifi also having the same clause... Other Telco I'm not sure...

I also experienced this a few days before, where during the games it lags kaw-kaw. This is a rough diagram how Astro's streaming setup works.

Player ==> Reverse Proxy (AWS Cloudfront) ==> Streaming Server

During the games, reverse proxy that is located in MY and SG is overwhelmed with users watching the games. So what I tried to do is, to change the domain that resolves linearjitp-playback.astro.com.my to resolve to reverse proxy in Japan.

Seems to work.
*
Thanks for your explanation... Too bad I'm a little too late to find out the issue. The streaming is smooth again...

I've tried to use the VPN to resolve the 'r.cloudfront.net' and maybe Hong Kong has a better latency and route?

routing through JP seems having a high latency.

Is Astro Go+ still locked by devices? I have so many devices that it's so annoying to always have to kick some devices out in order to watch Astro Sports

The installation fee for Satellite can potentially be avoided if you take advantage of the Astro's Big Thank You campaign BEFORE you switch to the new Astro One packages.

You highlight this point because you got friends or family still on legacy pack and using HD/PVR box? If yes, what pack are they currently on?
*
I'm one of them... one of my multi-room PVR decoders is dying so I believe it's time to upgrade. I'm on Super Pack Plus 3 so I'll have to upgrade to new Astro One plan right?

Prefer to keep on satellite mode too... Will have to contact Astro in coming weeks

Astro One FAQ
QUOTE
What is the contract period for subscribing to the Astro One packs?

The contract period for TV packs will be 24-months upon sign up. In addition to the TV packs, if you would like to also sign-up for Broadband, the contract commitment will be 24 months too.

If I go for Epic pack, is it one time 24m contract or it's a continuous auto-renewed 24m contract?
thankyou

Just FYI - I've been using Google TV Streamer for the Android Smart TV app. It works quite well except a couple of crashes.

It's my portable TV streamer whenever I'm traveling.
