It's not about that. Multiroom technically means that it's your 2nd astro in your house. They just don't want people to install it on a portable device and then lend it to someone else.
IIRC Sky also has the same limitations in the UK as well, since I've read similar thread to us in Reddit about getting the Sky app to work in Chromecast
Yeah, I'm aware of it. Does the app work if we install it on TV at different address, though? If it does, I don't see the point of blocking it on Chromecast. The could just make location permission a mandatory. But I guess, if sky couldn't make it work, there would be no hope for astro then.
I just hate it as I have an entry level (7 series) Samsung TV, and now I have to use astro on that. The app lag so much, changing between channels takes 5+ seconds, the channel's info needs to load everytime etc. Plus, I just like all my app to be at the same place.
Contacting them to try to get some answers is just a waste of time. They can't even differentiate Multiroom app with astro go app. And Chromecast with Google TV with the old gen Chromecast (casting/mirroring).
