Hi all, want to ask regarding the blank screen issue of ultibox.

For a bit of context, I changed from HDR to ultibox. After awhile i noticed that the ultibox would have blank screen issue.
And is starting to feel annoying.

I had to power off supply. Power on, then spam power button from astro remote to access the update page. Update software and wait again.
Are there any methods to avoid this frustrating experience?

What was the root issue to this black screen in the first place?

PS. Called customer service, they suspect the box faulty and sent installer to swap ultibox 2 weeks ago.
But the issue continues with the new ultibox.

Tried changing to another Hdmi.
while the original hdmi i use it for nintendo switch and is working. So is not hdmi issue.

The blank screen (no hdmi signal) usually occur after some day not watching astro. When wanted to watch turned on the astro box and it says no signal.

I tried let the astro box run without turning off the box. Only switch off the TV when not watching to avoid this issue. Still same behavior persist.
Looks like when not in use the box went into idle mode. Hence, like this. This is the feeling im getting.

Are you referring to auto standby mode?
Cant find sleep mode in astro box settings.

PS. The installer came in this morning to change ultibox again. This is my 3rd one.

I was from byond PVR.
Reason of change is due to i am paying way x3 more for Astro IPTV (Astro + TIME internet).

Got good and bad la.
Good is. with the nex box seldom face PVR not responding or hang. Extreme lagging when watching free Astro video on demand.

Bad is:
I have to troubleshoot here and there for my family when they turned on Astro only to be greeted with No signal blank screen.
Or force software update. By the time can watch ady, show running time finished. And Astro customer service is not 24 hours...

The hdmi is connected directly. I tried all 3 hdmi ports with the ulti box still same. Tested the same hdmi cable with the 3 ports on Nintendo Switch it is working fine.

Yea, it changes from dim yellow to purple colour.

2) Now whenever you press any buttons on the Astro remote (while pointing towards the Ulti Box, of course), does the LED light indicator on the Ulti Box blinks, or doesn't blink at all?
The Ultibox is slowly dim blinking purple. Or rather stagnant purple LED all the time. 

3) After a while, if you press power button again, does it change back from purple colour to dim orange?
Once turned on, the LED change to purple. Then ultibox seems not responding to my remote control input.
So is purple LED all the time.

4) Tried connect to other HDMI ports on your TV, and see if issue persists.
I tried all 3 hdmi ports with the ulti box still same. Tested the same hdmi cable with the 3 ports on Nintendo Switch it is working fine.

5) Is your Ulti Box placed in a well-ventilated area (not closed in the TV cabinet)?
It is placed in open TV cabinet.

You do the force software update, or it force software update by itself?

I follow the guidelines in astro website.
Power off adapter, wait for green light to goes off.
Unplug all cables from ulti box. reinsert back.
Boot up, then spam press power button. To go into Update page setting.
Press 1 for software download, Press 1 to download via Satelite.
Wait and hopefully after finished download, can watch astro.
If not working repeat again.

I also found a thread to press 987 to clear NVRAM and then download. (This method have better consistency to resolve but take longer time)

PS. Someone above shared to me to off standby mode. I am still monitoring the issue if this setting was turned off.
If this standby mode is the cause, how can i exit from standby?

My family just called astro again for site visit.
