currently got maxis broadband 30Mbps and did not have astro. saw in astro website promotion bundle astro family pack with broadband at RM99 per month. can i subscribe to this plan with my current maxis broadband? i do not mind recontract for 24 months. if after i get this RM99 per month package, can i add RM22 per month to watch english premier league (current promotion in astro) and also get the new UHD decoder. Summary of what i wanted:
Astro Family Pack bundle with Maxis Broadband 30 Mbps (my existing maxis broadband will be recontract to 24 month): RM99 Add English Premier League Sport Package: RM22 With UHD decoder to watch EPL in 4k (do not mind to pay one off installation fees at RM199) anyone manage to did this? if yes, i will call to astro to subscribe This post has been edited by cyberkoh88: Nov 27 2019, 04:36 PM |

ok thanks for this piece of information, if really can be done, i think actuall worth it, i only need to top up small amount where i can watch astro in HD and UHD especially on EPL.
UHD Box Installation (one off)=RM199 Astro Family Pack bundle with 30Mbps broadband=RM99 per month Add on EPL Sport Package: First month RM28, subsequent 11 month RM22, 13 months onward revert back to RM28 so my monthly min RM121 (RM99 + RM22) or max RM127 (RM99 + RM28), so with additional extra RM30 to RM40 per month can watch EPL in HD and UHD, i think worth it for me to reconnect again with astro...already terminate my astro few years back since i move to android box, as nowadays quite difficult to find high quality live streaming of EPL, so i think might consider to resubscribe again to astro with precondition what i wrote above can be done. QUOTE(joshhd @ Nov 27 2019, 10:02 PM) Correction.... This post has been edited by cyberkoh88: Nov 28 2019, 02:01 PMSince you're already on Maxis Fibre service, Astro can just switch over process from Maxis Fibre to Astro + Broadband, so you no need to inform Maxis about it. Less hassle for you lo... You'll be using back your same existing WiFi router and other equipment as it is. Yes, it'll be recontract for 24 months, or you'll pay hefty penalty if terminate within contract period. Another important thing to take note about "Astro + Broadband" is, from 25th month onwards, whatever promo bundle price you pay (e.g. 30Mbps + Family pack for RM99), it will be reverted back to the same original price as the usual standalone Astro and Maxis Fibre packages. Until then, perhaps there might be a new promo package offering on "Astro + Broadband".... For instance, 2 years later, there's a "new promo package", 500Mbps for RM219/month + Astro Starter Pack. Then the same process goes again, just recontract another 24 months to enjoy this promo package price, then 25th month onwards, it'll revert back to same original price as what you get when subscribe to standalone Astro, and Maxis Fibre. Who will you pay the bill to? You'll be paying one bill to Astro only, even though the Internet service is from Maxis. So what if there's a network problem, who do you call? The answer is "Astro + Broadband and Astro IPTV department", which is +603 9543 1543. Not call the Maxis Home customer service (1800824663) or the usual Astro customer service hotline (+603 9543 3838) cuz their system can't help you on that. Whatever complaint you made to them, they will revert back to Maxis. Pretty much the similar concept just like you subscribe to Maxis Fibre when your area is actually under TM Unifi. What service you get on Maxis Fibre, is pretty much what you'll get on Astro + Broadband. Astro don't operate their own internet service, they're just partnering with Maxis to bundle the service to customers. It also means, if you check the IP address domain or speedtest, it will show your ISP is "Maxis", not "Astro". Not happy with Astro once your 24 months contract is over? You can switch back to the standalone Astro and Maxis Fibre packages, no penalty or whatsoever. But it'll recontract again for another 24 months by Maxis Fibre. During that time, perhaps Maxis Fibre has new package already? Then that time only decide lo which package speed you want to take upon switching to standalone Astro, and Maxis Fibre package. ---- As for the EPL Sport Package add on of RM22, I think it shouldn't be a problem cuz whatever packages you get on Astro, you can also get it on Astro + Broadband. |

My current 4k TV (Samsung UA60KU6000) bought in Jun 2017 (should be 2016 model), not sure HDCP 2.2 compliant or not. anyone know how to check whether my TV model compliant to HDCP 2.2. Search from website but cannot found any info on it. any sifu here can advise.

currently on maxis broadband 30Mbps at RM89 per month without astro acocunt. Currently astro got offer, RM99 astro family plan with 30Mbps at RM99. So would like to ask, this RM99 include family plan HD channel? if i subscribe to autodebit, will deduct RM5 every month, meaning only pay RM94 per month? if yes, then not bad, pay additional RM5 to get astro family plan package. me do not mind recontract to another 24 month.

QUOTE(CSNG8586 @ Jun 30 2020, 01:45 PM) I think there will not have replace channel... Less & less channel now, more & more rojak channel came...haiz... But anyway, thanks sir... a lot of people especially younger generation already switch to android TV box with prerequisite your home have internet line without monthly quota (10Mbps line and above). No need monthly commitment, only pay one off during purchase of the box. Range between RM300++ to RM600++. Got astro/international live channel, video on demand channel and XXX rated channel. Current top box in the market:1. EVPad 2. SVICloud 3. UBox this assteruk only know how to squeeze people money by offering lousy channel with high monthly bill. Only good things were sport channels but this android TV box already offered quite a lot of live sports channel with near to HD quality channel. My 76 years old mum also know how to use it. Me already terminated astro line long time ago and switch to android tv box few years back and until now, the box still can be use. nexona88 liked this post

QUOTE(cdspins @ May 27 2021, 11:11 AM) Although it is deem illegal, but I doubt that we will see such android box exit or disappear from market. cannot blame Msian to be more prefer with this kind of TV Box due to several reasons:In Malaysia, execution or implementation is usually lagging far behind.... 1. Income per kapita for majority citizen are still very low 2. Paid TV are expensive like Astro. This must be due to the expensive content due to our ringgit depreciation 3. Free National TV programme sucks 4. People mindset that like free things Lucky that our broadband price become low (still consider high if compare to our neighbour country) when Pakatan Harapan take over. During BN times, damn expensive with low speed. Qash-M liked this post
