no. mine no contract renewed. but it was still during 24m contract period, thus it was still covered by warranty i suppose. free of charge replacement.

i think if u can identify stb is the actual problem via phone troubleshoot with their customer service, then no need tech. although in my case i told them im staying rural area so cant entertain techs to visit n replace. instead i asked to bring stb n replace it at astro centre. it was done within 4 days. delayed coz got to wait for them to confirm stock availability at that centre.
