QUOTE(hazim96 @ Dec 24 2020, 03:53 PM) Since long time ago 😅 Dulu also got 'Macam-macam ada' and many more Astro ads on RTM. I don't feel shocked since I feel both of them have some "good relationship". If you notice Astro 'sibling' Maxis and Hotlink also got their TVC kaw kaw on RTM. So win win situation here. Lately also Astro promoting it's Premier League pack on RTM Sports channel. fandom96 liked this post

QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 26 2021, 11:25 PM) I almost thought this is April Fool's joke. Turns out it's not... Finally, TV1 and TV2 will be in HD on Astro, for real this time. Not hoax whatsoever.... Still can't believe it right? Haha when i saw RTM posting on FB i said wow they really gave viewers a present on their birthday, not only some rebranding on their existing channels. Of course I'm quite excited on rebranding part. Now we have to wait whether Media Prima choose to broadcast in HD or not on Astro platform. Since they are being silent about this. Like it or not they have to change since Astro itself want to ceased all SD channels. Sooner or later they have to. Since RTM in HD on Astro well i got more reason to subscribe. As my parents watch RTM a lot. And i myself wanted to try out the Ulti Box. I've been following since rumours of 'connected box' until it tested to some customers and never expect Ulti Box will come out early. And Ultra Box is not my priority since I don't have a 4K tv and this is for my parents house. doubleM2 and jackytan.tt liked this post

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 27 2021, 03:42 PM) Disney Shutting Down 18 Cable Channels In Southeast Asia And Hong Kong From 1 October 2021 That's a huge amount of channels. Wonder what Astro will do after this. My dad would be really sad to know many of his favourite channels are ceasing. Disney is closing 18 channels in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong starting 1 October 2021. This marks the end of an era for the company who has a huge entertainment supply chain in the region. Geek Culture understands that employees were informed about the closure earlier today in Singapore. The 18 channels closing down in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong after more than two decades are entertainment channels Fox, Fox Crime, Fox Life and FX; movie channels Fox Action Movies, Fox Family Movies, Fox Movies and Star Movies China; sports channel Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2, Fox Sports 3, Star Sports 1, Star Sports 2; kids channel Disney Channel and Disney Junior; factual services Nat Geo People and SCM Legend. The decision to close these 18 channels is so that the company can focus on its direct-to-consumer (D2C) streaming model. Only 4 channels made the cut to D2C: Star Chinese Channel, Star Chinese Movies, National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild. Whilst the move may not be a shock to many, it leaves some questions for consumers of sports content. Fox’s sports channels include the rights to major sports events including Formula One, Australia Open, U.S. Open, Wimbledon and French Open. It is unclear what Disney plans to do for its sports consumers, though rumours suggest that the company may be working towards a D2C sports environment to address this issue. Pay-TV platforms, such as SingTel Mio and Starhub, will have a giant hole to fill in their line-up. Likewise, consumers who subscribe to pay-TV platforms for access to these 18 channels may have to revise their subscription. With many Disney staff impacted by the closure, the company has come up with a new staffing structure and unfortunately, let some employees go including Singapore-based marketing head Daniel Tan, Asia-Pacific head of marketing for studio marketing Shoba Martin and Tom Batchelor. Batchelor previously held the positions of VP of studio operations, theatrical and Disney+ content localisation and live entertainment, and Asia-Pacific VP music Southeast Asia. Disney has yet to disclose how many people will be leaving the company as a result of the closure. Going forward, Fox Network Group content executive Michael Dick is now put in charge of D2C acquisition for the region as well as channels for Southeast Aisa, including Indonesia. Andy Baek has been tipped as head of media networks for Indonesia/Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, with a dual role in direct-to-consumer programming business and Karan Paul, who is currently head of business transformation has been named head of D2Cbusiness operations. “As part of The Walt Disney Company’s global effort to pivot towards a D2Cfirst model and further grow our streaming services, the company is consolidating its Media Networks business primarily in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. These efforts will help us align our resources more efficiently and effectively to current and future business needs,” said Disney in a statement announcing the closure to employees earlier this morning. The company’s D2Cstreaming platform, Disney+, first arrived in Singapore in February this year. https://geekculture.co/disney-shutting-down...1-october-2021/ On another note, I want to subscribe Starter pack very soon before Raya. Does anyone know how long does it take for installer came? And is it worth for me to add on movie pack for my parents as 80% channels in the pack will be ceased soon? RM25 is quite a lot when all Fox channels closed and only left with Cinemax and HBO. Qash-M liked this post

As for how long it takes for the Astro installer to come, it depends on installer slots availability in your region. But usually, you can expect less than 1 week for Astro DTH orders. If it's Astro & Broadband / Astro IPTV, then your appointment date might take up to 2 weeks. And, we still got 5-6 months... So why would you want to worry about whether should you subscribe to Movies pack now or not? Once Fox channels ceases, and if the channel replacements offered by Astro doesn't satisfy you, then you can just call customer service to downgrade/cancel package la. So no need to headache about that now also. Just remember, there will be a one-off RM10 switching fee for downgrading packages. [/quote] Just ordered through website last night. And received an email that they will call me in these 3 days. Hope all is well. And I also add on the movie pack since I also felt that in the future if my father are not satisfied with Astro offerings I just call their CS to downgrade. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Apr 29 2021, 11:16 PM) It is related to the HDCP 1.4 issue. Solution? Use this HDMI splitter/switcher, so that the HDCP issue would solve. Luckily I'm not using Sharp. Currently still loyal with LG. CS asked me first on what brand that I use. He asked that to confirm on my Ulti Box installation. He said other brands got no issues. Hopefully will be fine as my LG Smart TV has been around for almost three years.Example: https://shopee.com.my/1X2-Split-1-in-2-out-...9864.1841064155 *For Ultra Box users, do note that the "cheap" HDMI splitter above, does not bypass HDCP 2.2, hence you will still see HDCP error only when watching 4K UHD content/channels from Astro. Astro do not officially condone nor encourage the public from using HDMI splitter/switcher for some reasons, but as a workaround for those who don't want to buy brand new TV, then using it can solve the HDCP issue. HzzAre you using Sharp TV? What model is it? |

QUOTE(John42 @ May 2 2021, 01:27 AM) Hey guys I notice that there's picture quality improvement since this Thursday on HD channels and some SD channel. Did anyone notice the improvement? Please do let me know ya 😊 Didn't notice the improvement. Astro SD still an eyesore for me. QUOTE(neekun @ May 2 2021, 12:06 PM) My LG GX (2020 model) occasionally still get HDCP error. Like once in 2 months like that, when it happened i just power off TV and ASTRO and power on again. Is it your LG a 4K tv? Mine just full HD only. Installation was done yesterday and thankfully got no issues. I like the tactile feel on Ulti Box remote compared to Ultra Box which is felt too rubbery. Already complained to ASTRO and LG, both finger pointing each other... |

QUOTE(joshhd @ May 14 2021, 01:37 PM) That looks like Ulti Box to me... I only experiencing hang on the startup. Because my mom usually wont let the Ulti Box on standby. She turn off the switch and pull out the plug. So everytime on the startup i have to wait for a about 30-60 seconds until the LED light became purple. At that time if you press the on button on remote also wont help. After several times, i found the only way to solve this issue is by pressing the ON button on the right side of Ulti Box. I don’t know wether this is normal or not since sometimes it can on so fast and sometimes not. 😳😳😳😳😳 Feels like there's some "domestic violence" going on in the house. Anyone here using Ulti Box, faces hang issues? I'm using Ultra Box, some software bugs does occur occasionally, but software hang maybe once in a blue moon... And usually the issue solves once restart box. This post has been edited by Hzz: May 14 2021, 09:40 PM |

QUOTE(joshhd @ May 16 2021, 11:37 PM) In general, it is safe to assume that if a piece of hardware can supports 4K UHD natively, it will be more powerful compared to those that supports maximum Full HD. Like what i've shared on my previous post, if you turn off the Ulti Box then it will take a longer time to startup. Maybe for about 1-3 minutes. Compared if you just let the box standby then it will start like normal. So far i didn't feel any overheating issues since it just a normal warm temperature.Smaller box = Overheat faster? Hmmm that one I'm not so sure... Maybe some actual Ulti Box users here can share some reviews? |

Is it just me or my feelings that PQ of Astro channels has improved a bit this several days? I rarely watch tv since last Raya and honestly Im frustrated by the PQ quality at that time. You can see obvious ghosting and pixelations during fast scene and worst for normal scene also obvious. But last sunday I watch Hobbs & Shaw on 104 i was satisfied with no obvious ghosting and no pixelations at all. Is it the effects of migrations some bandwith to Measat 3d?

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Feb 9 2023, 02:13 PM) Ch 803 & 804 namely Astro Arena Bola to on-air starting Feb 23, 2023. Dedicated to all things Liga Malaysia including live matches, highlights, magazine shows, etc. RM9.90 add on price for non-sports pack customers. Quite a good bargain.Astro’s Sports Pack & NJOI’s Sports Mega Pack customers will get complimentary access to those channels, while non-Sports Pack subscribers will need to add-on Liga Malaysia Season Pass to watch those channels. sooka’s VIP+Sports & VIP TV plans should also get the full suite of Liga Malaysia content. doubleM2 liked this post

Received a cold call asking me to add on Sports Pack into my subscription. Why always sales dept left behind? They didn’t know that my Liga Malaysia add on has changed to Sports Special pack. Lagi mau cakap there is no such Sports Special and asking me to add on the actual Sports Pack to enjoy 810-820 channels. Ke saja buat buat tak tahu so that some easily pembaris customers would pay more for that pack?
