unfortunately, when ASTRO force bundle Hotstar into Movie pack, we're already screwed with never-ending 1yr renewal. unless you give notice to unsubscribe Movies - or Hotstar for those w/o Movies - before the yearly renewal.

but since we're on legacy, ASTRO also won't let us modify our subscription.

You stop subscribe to your Netflix, then wait until it expires.
Don't immediately switch Astro's pack as then you will have overlapping dates forNetflix subscription.

Switch to Astro's Platinum.
That will cover all your needs above, includes Netflix and more.
This is akin to you switching payment method from your current to Astro.

Netflix own payment no contract.
Netflix via Astro will have auto-renewing yearly contract.

ASTRO already for few years practicing charging one-time RM10 before tax if you change subscription that result with lesser revenue for ASTRO. If you pay more, they9eaive the RM10 charge.

Also, any changes that result with them getting less will only take effect on next billing ( we are charged in advance, so they want to keep whatever higher amount that we already paid for in advance, no prorating to refund).

This is my guess: If you modify that result in paying more, change will take effect immediately 🀭 need to pay the additional prorated increment.

if they REALLY REALLY REALLY beg plead cry for you switch to new PLATINUM but only pay your current SUPER PACK 3 cheaper price AND DISCOUNTS STAYS FOR GOOD, I would say get that committed in writing and grab it.

If discount is only for 2 years, you mull it over lorrr whether you can absorb the radical bump in price later.

PLATINUM covers everything except SPORTS EXTRA.

Also, if you have multiple smartcards in account, read carefully as the CS will give a statement along the line of "i of this NRIC of this address want to upgrade smartcard X to plan ABC" for you to confirm to proceed.

Although we had been chatting for almost 3hrs to address my concerns and had been focusing only on smartcard Y, i almost agreed to apply upgrade on a different smartcard Z instead.

It was only by accident that i noticed CS was asking confirmation to apply the agreed upgrade on a different smartcard instead.

Naaaaah, not out to cause hardship over petty matter. As long as typo is revealed, can gloss over. But it is really dangerous if i had simply glossed over "RM1060/2 for each month remaining".

Even if not the standard, such can simply be used against me as if i had implicitly agreed to such term. Imagine having to pay [RM1060Γ·2Γ—7m]=RM3710 if i breach contract with 7mth remaining 😏😱😰

outright flat deny continuing. all deferred to use Whatsapp.

If only those top brass of ASTRO hit roadblock and only had to use their own Phone Support like the rest of us. Then only they know what worms they had uncanned.


it's stupid and ridiculous that the whole world world falling into the hand of facebook incorporated. some outright replaced their support with whatsapp.

i confirm to you:
Since 9th November, all legacy subscriptions (decoder and packages) are frozen stiff. Have to switch to one of the new packages before they'll allow upgrade decoder.

I engaged them since 30th October until new TV arrived on 9th itself; still they don't entertain on and after.

I don't know what about replacing faulty existing decoder though.

(yeah, it sucks).
