Gaming in Malaysia has come a long long way.

Any oldies here who were born  from the 70s , 80s (or even the 60s )should be well aware of what I 'm talking about .

Back then we had very little supports for original gaming ,  because games were insanely expensive . Importing an original game tend to cost hundreds of Ringgit . I still remember paying rm 377.80 for Xenogear on Playstation 1 , which was absurd. You can buy quite a lot of things with RM 377 twenty years ago .

But the time has changed , a lot .

Now we have our own game launch parties , our own region of PS Store , digital game sales , Pre-purchase freebies , all sorts of merchandise , a bunch of ways to get discount for new game .

As long as you have a decent job , spending some money into something you like every month , don't see what's wrong with that really. If you still can't afford it then don't play it , it is that simple . 

Console gaming was never a cheap hobby to begin with , it is suppose to be luxury that is more affordable to the common public than the rest . Just look at all the talk with HDR gaming and 4K TV now , even a decent HDR TV will cost you over RM 8000++ . And then you want to get a decent sound system which will cost you at least another 10k....
And you absolutely have no reason to pirate any games, on any platform thesedays . In PC gaming , even the Steam store has a regional pricing now , where many of the games cost substantially less than the standard $60 USD . On top on that , there are resellers who sell these games much cheaper at launch .

Buy a few less packets of cigarettes will save you far more money and medical fees than what You can spend on games  .

Oh wait I suddenly sound like a mother on Lowyat godammit
P/S : There are several renting stores which offer a good amount of updated console games for rental and they are extremely affordable , RM 3 / day , RM 15/ week . 1 less reason to pirate games really.
