If sub bass isn't your priority, I'd go s2000pro over s360db just for how they sound overall

S2000pro bass has subs but they are balanced enough for listening.
The bookshelves are not big enough for heart thumps and chair rumbles.

My experience is that S2000pro has just enough power to shake eardrums if you nailed the positioning correctly. If not it is just a clean flat response.

The S360DB has a dedicated subwoofer with bass ratio to fullrange way louder than what S2000PRO offers. You are indeed getting more bass from S360D from the overall sound icon_rolleyes.gif

in what aspect? Which speaker?

S730D is a little dated and old in power consumption but it easily kills both S2000pro and S360db in volume and bass
S730D may be a tad muddy in some sense but it is really just warm blend signature of it.

both the new S2000pro and S350DB is clean sounding and balanced with minimal mid bass mud but that also translates to a brighter airy signature if you compare side by side.

ohh..sorry, I mean if compare S730 vs S360DB in term of bass of course. Does watt count play any role? 300w (S730) vs 150w (S360DB)

watt alone doesn't do much unless it say watt rms. Then yes the bigger the rms wattage the louder it is.

Listening to the unit is still better than looking at specs. I would go for a lower wattage speaker if it performs louder than the higher watt ones.

But really watt is just power. It doesn't tell how good it sounds. And thankfully Edifier top of the line series has a frequency graph to refer to if you can only compare by specs. icon_rolleyes.gif

but if you're talking bout S730D bass vs S360DB

S730D is loud and warm bass. A tad bit slow in response but still hard hitting enough for tight bass (partially also due to the dual passive woofers on side for tone)
S360DB has the tightness in it due to the smaller cone size but I personally felt that its response "feels loose compared to S730D" in return for deeper bass response.

Overall S360DB has a wider frequency response and can go way lower in sub bass region but S730D size alone covers the impact needed.
But do remember S360DB obtain its bass kicks from its satellites too while the S730D relies 100% on the subwoofer

I see...thank you so much for your detail explanation. I guess, the best judge is to hear with our own ears isn't? smile.gif
