Setting up.

I placed it back to my usual computer table. You can compare the subwoofer size with my old S530D subwoofer. Its shorter and smaller.
I am used to the usual 2.1 setup where I crawl under my table to connect everything into the sub but this round I don’t need to. Just toss the woofer down and plug in the power done.
Most of the crucial connections are at the right satellite where it's easy to connect and it’s the heart of all components anyway.
They’re gold connectors that slides my rca cables smoothly without gritty or rough texture. Everything fits smoothly.
I do have one issue where the right satellite power cable is hard wired and it is too short for my table where my 4 gang is at the left. I do wish Edifier stick to using the common 2 pin socket like they used in the wireless sub they give.
Like the S350DB, the S360DB drivers are all exposed so take good care with the speakers.

Source used are:
Onboard realtek soundcard
T-Muso PCM2704
Oneplus 5T (via bluetooth)
As well as my Lyneaudio 6J9 preamp with PCM2704 DAC for a lil twist in sound. It has RCA line outs for connection so the levels aren’t too hot for amped speakers.

First impressions
Give it a quick listen, I can confirm they’re different from S350DB.
BOY IT SOUNDS AGGRESSIVE AND FATIGUING
“Sorry I had my treble on max”
But that alone get me thinking this isn’t that suitable for close listening? I’m just guessing.
I take a look at the
Inter Asia website and from the images it did seem like its marketed as home audio for tv console or bookshelf music playback.
The previous S350DB had a picture of it used for PC close listening so maybe it is designed for different purpose?
Well that’s what I thought. Maybe your ears may tell a different story?
Using it is the same as the S350DB. They provide you with the same remote puck that has input selector and volume control as well as bluetooth playback functions. Fairly straightforward if you know how to connect your speakers to a device. If not just use bluetooth

They’re aptX and they should sound as good as cables on quality cd player with no delays.
Sound
It’s hot. Very energetic and aggressive. There are traits of sounding like the previous S350DB but with a different texture.
I gave a good listen and here are my thoughts

Bass
Sub punching cold bass just like S350DB. Hitting lows lower than specs claimed. If you are wondering how they sound, think of people blasting music with dual 12” subs in their car trunk heavy. That’s some energy packing bass there. I do find that this S360DB hits the midbass of 150Hz better as they make kicks sounds more pronounced. Giving you a punch in the gut whenever a kick beat hits. Bass guitar with deep growls sounds monstrous without getting mudded up with the subs. Loved it really much when you’re in a movie or a game and the whooshes and bangs rumbles and sucks your lungs out.
While being all powerful and jaw shaking, you can turn off the subwoofer entirely for a good midnight tunes without disturbing your neighbors. Its wireless. It runs independently so you can go on with the full range without the dub dub on your neighbor. The satellites alone also provides ample amount of bass for basic listening so don’t worry much.
I tested with the system fully running and decided to just unplug the subwoofer off the power to see what happens.
The subwoofer kept pumping bass for up to 5-6 seconds before it gave up. I’m shocked!
Then the whole system sounded dry with no body as if it is just plain tweeters alone. Horrible but wait up.
Give it one or two seconds the clever satellites immediately recognizes the absence of subwoofer and the satellites start boosting bass on the midrange.
Pretty cool feature I’d say.
If you decided to reconnect your subwoofer into the system, it only takes less than a second for the subwoofer to pair up and start giving bass.
With that said the wireless provides a flexible option of hiding your subwoofer. You can place almost anywhere you want. The wireless tech used in Edifier subwoofer is unknown. I assume bluetooth aptX? Maybe that’s the case with some special assignment but Edifier can correct me. Subwoofer kicks in with zero delay. I don’t notice it. I wish I have an rta mic and Smaart software to test but I can guarantee you Edifier did a good job in it so it sound as if they’re wired.

Midrange
Unlike the previous unit, the mids were not as smooth and warm, but instead it has a forward aggressive sound. Probably due to the trebles but they sounded very different to me.
They reminded me of how the Marshall JVM tube amp on a 4x12” cabinet guitar combo sounds like. A lil boxy hollow characteristics with strong emphasis of 1kHz range. Given that forward sound it usually sounds good when listened from a distance and it is true. The distance given was about 2-3 meters? They sound crisp and clear without fatiguing when I placed them slightly far. With such midrange characteristics they work fantastic with various dramas and voiceovers. Speeches and talks are great with these. Audiobooks are fantastic as they ensure spoken words go piece by piece. The mids didn’t really have much of the low depth so some male baritone vocals sounds like a tenor singer as the subwoofer don’t push the midbass. Turning off the subwoofer will introduce warmth back into vocals but they stay pretty close to how they originally sound.
My fix to it was giving a test with the tube amp + DAC combo. It gave me the fat sound I like but that’s just my preference. I kinda want to use it as computer speakers instead of home tv console. Generally they’re very good performing mids as playing PUBG on these gave very clear stereo representation and depth just from the mids alone.
Trebles
I like the trebles just as much on the S2000PRO as on these. Maybe it was due to the special planar dynamic tweeters. They blast out wide and far compared to conventional dome tweeters and they don’t change in tone when listened from steep angles. Like the S2000PRO these transmits wide! Clean shiny sparkly trebles and gave you a deep impression of diamond crystals chiming in your ears. I don’t have much to say about the trebles. You have to listen to it to understand how good it sounds.

Verdict
Well here are my thoughts.
Pros
-Fantastic sound
-Deep bass
-Crisp clear mids when you are in correct distance
-Fantastic trebles
-Independent subwoofer for flexibility in placements.
-Good amount of bass when subwoofer is turned off
-aptX bluetooth is very useful in good speakers
Cons
-Can sound harsh when placed on close distance
-Right satellite power is hardwired and may be short for some people.
-Wireless subwoofer maybe unnecessary gimmick but your opinion/setup may vary
-Price may be steep when you have a twin contender for a reasonable price with one or two less features.
-Aesthetics issue similar to S350DB where drivers are all exposed and prone to physical damage
I find this S360DB is targeted for a different purpose. Even the price is a step higher to its previous twin. Given the price I’d go with its affordable twin but if my main purpose is to place it for tv entertainment then this is the more suitable product for you.
