I suspect I have heavy metal toxicity. 6 neurologists, 2 neurosurgeons, 3 psychiatrists, 1 orthopaedic, 1 immunologist, 2 general doctors, 1 surgery and 1 botox, still undiagnosed. Waiting for the blood test now in 2 weeks.

Symptoms are: tingling throughout body, jerking movements, pressure behind head, mood swings, trouble thinking, trouble speaking, memory problems.

I don't remember being in contact with any heavy metal, but just did the test anyway.

Anyone diagnosed with heavy metal toxicity as well without knowing? And how was the recovery process? Thank you.

I'm 20 years old and I have been having symptoms throughout my life. They just slowly but surely showed itself. Have always had problems concentrating and with mild tingling. Last year it became very bad where i couldn't go to college and is isolated at home until now.

The doctor at first didn't want to do the test, but i insisted. She say maybe when I was young I eat my pasar malam toy or something, who knows? Since i've always had it.

Did complete blood test, allergy test, food sensitivty test, autoimmune test. Now waiting for heavy metal test, my last hope.

Thank you. This is affecting me, cant go to uni haha. Nah, the jerking movements and other symptoms cant be caused by something like stress lol.

I had tremor-like movements in my neck. A movement-disorder specialist presumed it to be neck dystonia so botox was attempted to suppress it. However, my tingling throughout body still persists.

Botox is not only for aesthetic purposes, but can help movement disorders as well.

Like that, I don't think it is heavy metal stuff. Maybe there is something else. If the condition is getting more and more noticeable, maybe some kind of nerve disorder. Better get the specialist diagnostic, not normal private clinic doctor.

Why? Do you have experience with heavy metal poisoning or know anyone who have? I did. Exhausted and spent almost 90k d. With a failed surgery and 6 neurologists whom are all rather highly reputable.

I don't. I'm confused. Why did you suspect of heavy metal poisoning if you said you did not remember being in contact with heavy metal?

Honestly, not because of that. It's because i've checked all other possible options that can lead to my symptoms, except this.

where do you live?
is your piping still lead
but lead poisoning is easily diagnosed by just looking at the rbc; they are stippled

what makes you come to this conclusion (that u have heavy metal poisoning) in the first place?
however, it is not an unreasonable suspicion in a country like malaysia.. batteries are throw everywhere, factory run-offs just runs into rivers LOL; mercury and all

No conclusion. Basically my main symptom is tingling throughout body. I search on webmd and checked on EVERY CAUSE of it. Only heavy metal test remains.
Symptoms of heavy metal that I read online also will explain a lot of my problems since young. Eg. Trouble concentrating, tingling in legs, mood swings.
Just wanna ask if anyone else in this forum have been diagnosed before with the poison.

Yep. I have a feeling that the problem is more real than most people realise, just that lack of awareness by doctors and by the patients. Sad really. Went to 6 neurologists, all never suggest that this could be the cause at all. Should update their manual

trouble concentrating, mood swings are not easily quantified as these can just be part of our characters or temperament make-up; but that tingling in limbs, that is organic and will deserve resolution. Hg, Pb, As all merited looking into but very often you will have other complaints if any of these could be the cause. unable to help further but i can recommend that when u see your doctor (your GP ie your family doctor, the one that has all your records), you can raise your suspicion with him/her, so he/she can be directed towards the correct tests to do. You will agree that Heavy Metal Poisoning is often under-diagnosed in Malaysia.

no doubt your neurologists have taken history of the ''tingling'' that you mentioned, and worked out a battery of tests to exclude nasty diseases; but i wonder why 6, go to only 1 and stick to one. also, i wonder what these 6 ''Neurologists'' said was the possible cause(s). ''Tingling'' is a bread and butter of Neurological profession.

good luck

owh just spotted this ie ''jerky''; i take it that it is myoclonic jerks and not chorea or hemiballismus (look up on youtube, and tell me which is closest to your symptoms; strictly speaking these are signs and not symptoms but lets not get into that. look up also fasciculation. if u hv time, tag me
