this is just a theory.

the thing is, this theory proves to be correct on a high percentage. around 50%. thats a high number. So many people say, "owh, i eat alkaline foods and get baby boy."
from 100 person, 50 person say they get boy from eating alkaline foods.
50 people is a lot of people. they start telling other people "if u want to get a boy, u should eat alkaline foods etc" news spread.
the cycle goes.

but this theory is also wrong on a high percentage, 50% as well.

just like the gender distribution of births, around 50% male, around 50% female.
just like the theory if the pregnant perut is bulat its a girl and if its sharp is a boy....
this theory can be correct 50% of the time.

come on, if its not a boy, it must be a girl. it is 50-50 la. aiyo.

Actually from what i observed, the size of the belly do determine whether it is a boy or girl and this is by far 100% accurate whereby round belly = girl, sharp bulge belly = boy.

My 2 cents from my experience (ha)....

After 2 boys, wanted a girl. Learnt this tip from a book. Forgot the book title now. Just go to Amazon and search for baby sex etc, you will get it.

The theory is (my memory may fail me here)

* X sperms (girl) are slow marathon swimmers
* Y sperms (boy) are fast low stamina swimmers

Their target is to meet the egg.

So to increase the chance of X sperms meeting the egg, time the bed game x days before the start of ovulation (I think x = 3-4 days). The y sperms may be faster swimmers but the egg will be too far up for them to reach it as they have low stamina. The x sperms are slower but  after a few days, they will meet the egg which is on the way down the tube.

Get it? Ha. I hope no medical student or doctor is reading this. Ha.

P/S  Yes, my 3rd child is a girl.

I read this too. But y sperms die much earlier than x sperm. So the egg has to be at the best location, so the y sperm will neet it faster. By that it means sex during ovulation for boy. For girl any day that leading up to the ovulation.

But it also depends on a lot of factor. Some male merely release a lot of x sperm so the above method will not work. Also although y should be the faster swimmer, it also depends on the vitality of overall sperm.

I think most of us trying to get boy to fulfill parents' or in-law's requirement. I ll say to heck with it. As long as baby is healthy, i will be thankful.

No, definitely will still love them, but of course, its something like if you could get one son and one daughter, why not.
Of course, if finances allows, I wouldn't even mind getting 3 sons and 1 daughter, or 3 daughters and 1 son.

It's more of wanting to have one of each gender at least.
