Hello everyone. I am new here. I never thought there's a forum dedicated for Malaysian bodybuilding novices(or noobs) so I'm glad I found this forum. I might seem clueless at times, so I hope you guys can bear with me.

Anyway, I am a 21-yo working man, with 67kg weight and 168.2cm height. I started going to gym about 3 weeks ago. I hired a local personal trainer before I intend to do alone, by either following BodyBuilding.com's Fierce 5 Novice routine or Ryan Gosling's workout plan. My question is, what is the meal plan can you guys recommend to me for reasonable prices?

I heard from multiple guys for multiple times that I should eat a lot for my muscle to grow. Well, for the last few days, I am unable to follow that. Why? One of the reasons is I always short on money. I am bad at managing my money, so when it's near the end of the month I'm completely broke. So to learn more about financial management, I browsed something on the web and learn about meal planning. Unfortunately, I can't find the right ones.

How can I plan a meal plan that aren't too pricey for me(estimated spending is RM200 per month)? What should I put in my grocery lists? And is meal prepping a good idea? I hope you guys can help me with this.

Ditch the personal trainer and immediately you can spend a few hundreds more on having proper meals. RM200 a month isn't going to cut it tbh.

i must say bodybuilding can be pricey.
- gym price
- supplement if u take
- food price (ur carb, protein etc etc)
- gear

so ditch the personal trainer like one said..
plan ur expenses for (breakfast, lunch, dinner) assume u eat with parents for breakfast (cheapest is egg?) and dinner (cheapest is egg?) then u ll spend for lunch. if eat out then chic rice can cost around rm6-7

cook urself is cheapest.
- per-pack chick fillet cost around rm4 - 6
- oat 700gm - rm8
- eggs 30pcs = rm14
- brown rice - 5kg around rm18 - 25
- milk - rm8
- vege
- bread rm3-5
etc etc

count ur macros and do ur meal plan. eat a lot and count wat u eat.

Something doesnt add up. Get your priorities right. No money but hire trainer. Did your trainer count reps for you or teach you what you need to know. I will assume that he goes in, ask you do this that and count reps for you. Ditch those. 200 cant even last me 10 days and I only eat 1 meal out a day.

200 bucks per month... All I can say, Goodluck. You want to build a good body but cannot even allocate a decent budget for meal. To top that off you even hired a personal trainer which is a waste of money tbh.

Stretch the budget to 400 maybe its possible. But be prepared for lots of chicken and chicken as meat and fish are pricey. Protein is not cheap.

I don't think RM200 is sustainable even for a normal person. RM6.60 a day, the hell you can eat? Roti kosing breakfast, roti telur lunch, roti telur dinner? Not even doable even you cook your own. Barang dah banyak naik bro. A zap fan with meat and vege alone can easily hit RM6

First of all, I want to say "Thank you!" to everyone that replied to my thread. I appreciate all of your opinions and suggestions. notworthy.gif Now, let us proceed.

* RM200 per month is impossible for one to survive
When I said 'estimated', it means that is like the minimum value expected. That means, I would increase the budget if needed. But man, really? RM200 is not really enough?

So, as user axtray suggested, I will increase my budget to RM400.

* Ditch your personal trainer
Don't worry, that is indeed my plan. I just need someone to show me how to use the equipments properly. And we both agreed that I only pay his service for for 1-2 months until I'm sure I can handle on my own.

Now, to reply to certain people :-
