income varies day to day. some days are better than others.
but, as a safety guide, u can estimate around RM15-20 per hour average
that is after comms deduction but before maintenance & fuel.

it really depends on the type of car ur getting, how much is your installment monthly, how much fuel you consume, how much is the maintenance.

from my estimate, from 100% fare
-25% comms
-10% fuel
-15% maintenance (service/tire change/battery/road tax/insurance)

nett income is around 50% of fare.

if u drive 8hrs a day, u can safely assume at least 200km of travel per day.
*
thumbsup.gif Thanks! im thinking of getting a new Persona, the installment shouldnt over 600 per month i guess hmm.gif After deduction of fuel , installment & other maintanence fees...i guess im only getting few hundred extra per month sweat.gif

welll...at least ur car is paid for, maintenance taken care of...

of course, its actually hard work. not easy money.  read thru the other threads and u'll see so many complaints by drivers.
and u need to work thru ur installment period...which is easier said than done.

btw, i'd actually advise u to choose a car from the gc+ list instead of gc...with a gc+ car, u can turn on both services and accept both request. gc+ returns slightly higher fare compared to gc....
not sure if persona is gc or gc+

but of course its entirely upto u
*
Yeah sweat.gif i saw a lot of complain from both side rider and driver .....but i guess im ready for it hahaha for the sake of money

hmm.gif how about honda city ? This car is in my consideration also laugh.gif but what im concerned about is how much extra income i can get compare to GC

If you drive in Klang Valley and surrounding area, in my case usually in average 7 to 12 hours drive could gross you roughly RM 300 on weekends.
*
ohmy.gif wow.... RM300 ...more than enough to cover my honda city monthly installment, how about weekday?

gc min fare RM5
gc+ min fare RM8

gc to KLIA RM65
gc+ to KLIA RM75

like i said, its slightly higher fare only compared to gc but if u know how many RM5 trips there are, u'd be grateful ur collecting RM8 instead, doing same thing.

since ur getting a car anyways, why not get something more comfy? u feel better, rider also feel good
*
hmm.gif thats 60% more than GC already, but you said i can turn on both GC and GC+ does it mean that i might get RM5 trip and RM8 trip depend on which service the rider choose ?

yes, if u turn on both service, then means ur open to rcvd either gc/gc+ whichever comes first.
normal driving, i only turn on gc+
in KLIA, i will turn on both just to check the queue.
from what i notice, gc queue 700-800 is about the same wait time as gc+ queue 200-250 which is between 1.5 to 2hrs

so if i see gc+ queue not too high, i will switch to gc+ only.  same waiting time, might as well get RM10 extra right?  icon_idea.gif
*
blink.gif have to queue 700-800 between 1.5 to 2hrs to receive a order from rider ? sweat.gif how about drive in the KL area ? Usually how long to receive a new order ?

The chance is very possible and is kinda high fyi, even if you keep cool follow the rules always remember there are other risks like accidents, rider robs you, etc....
*
sweat.gif you are making me think twice again.......im screwed if i got banned from driving for grab.....btw the risk of accident and getting rob is unavoidable la....

It's not wise to buy a new car especially if it's an expensive car, if it's myvi or axia then still can, just need to break even asap will do
*
sweat.gif yea...thats why persona is in my first choice.... myvi and axia is not in my consideration due to my height sweat.gif
and im a little convinced by walk3r cause what he said is true also....and the chance of getting more order is higher with GC+ i suppose ?

give u benefit of doubt.

yes, its quite normal to wait 1.5 to 2hrs at KLIA for a ride. reason is, KLIA is based on queue, first come first served (well, some play by different rule, but that's a different story).  So seeing you're not the only or earliest driver to be at the queue, its normal to get 700-800 queue number.
quickest camp time at KLIA for me is around 1hr which is in middle of the night.

in KL is different story lo...so many riders, short trips, long trips, ppl going lunch, going appt, going hospital, going shopping, back to office, back to home etc etc...of course won't have to wait so long for a ride.
if in KL city, u can expect B2B non-stop, especially during peak hours or a 1-2 min break in between during non-peak hours.  at most 5 mins break in between rides.  if more than 10mins without a request, something wrong already.
*
hmm.gif why there is so many people queue for the KLIA ride ? higher in return compare to city drive ?

From my past experience, the average fare will be rm30 per hour for a town driving, but you need to consider car maintenance and petrol consumption as its move proportional to your fare plus your attitude as well coz grab can ban u easily, imho
*
doh.gif this is exactly what i am worry about.... what if they ban me after few month i bought my car... cause i can see a lot of complaint about driver getting ban....they wont give you a warning before ban you from driving ? And there is no way to let them unban you ? hmm.gif

ok...first, imagine u accepted a request to send rider from KL city to KLIA. trip is 50km, RM65.
after drop off, what u want to do? go back to KLIA empty car? its a 50km return trip.

or, u can hv 2 other choice:

1) drive to putrajaya or nearest city and start driving there
2) wait for ride back to KL city/some where
3rd choice is DON'T accept any KLIA rides from the city.  that way u'll be driving in city only. dun forget, in city, u might caught in jam. trip to KLIA usually smooth traffic.

as mentioned, return trip from KLIA is RM65.  2 trips, consumed 4 hours (1 hr to, 2 hr wait, 1 hr return) is RM130 which gross about RM30/hr.  If u get an even further return trip, like to genting, even better!
if u lucky, ur able to make same fare in putrajaya/cyberjaya but u'll be driving non-stop.
in KLIA, ur idle, no petrol used, u relax and play fb/tumblr  brows.gif

also discussed in this thread, many agree upto 2hrs wait is reasonable (given 4hrs total)...more than that then its probably not worth it.
if u so worried kena ban, then u need to behave better lor...install dvr in car to record the riders.  if some idiot report u for no reason at least u can defend.
if u behave or wanna behave like gangster abang taxi, then god bless, better u dun buy car and drive.
some riders are idiots..u'll see many like those and cant avoid.  just do ur job, and things should be ok. u'll need to be damn 9 suei to kena ban for no reason.
*
Thank you so much for the opinion thumbup.gif already make up my mind....start looking for car now already....
