I tried open the case already. The temperature drop by 1'C when idle and 3'C on load. This post has been edited by weikai_ng: Aug 4 2007, 08:20 AM

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 8 2007, 11:12 AM) That depends on how does XFX stick the warranty sticker on the back of the card. Erm...There is no any sticker for preventing me to open the heat sink...Is it meaning we can change the thermal paste without void the warranty?Take a picture of the backside of your card and put the picture here and we can help you identify either you can take out the HSF to replace the TIM without voiding the warranty or not. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Aug 8 2007, 10:39 PM) laptop cpu cooler??? But the laptop cooler "looks" better than my XFX 8600GT XXX stock cooler... personally i wouldnt recommend it...unless ur talking about desktop cpu cooler... laptop cpu doesnt produce as much heat as desktop cpus. so the heatsink needed in laptops arent as good as desktops. but if ur card is an 8800 series...i would recommend sticking to the stock cooler. |

QUOTE(ianho @ Aug 9 2007, 08:57 AM) Y r u not satisfied with the stock cooler? They're not gonna sell u a card that will get damaged by overheating coz of inadequate cooling. That's just being silly coz it costs them even more $ for RMAs not to mention the damage to their reputation. U only change coolers if ur playing around with extremely heavy overclocks to challenge benchmark rankings n so on. If you are in my situation you also won't satisfy with the cooler as the peak temperature is 90~92'C. |

QUOTE [08/07/2007] My graphics card has a abnormal high temperature on loading (90`C) even i use a table fan to blow over it. Would changing the thermal paste void the warranty? Thanks... Above is the respond by XFXForce technician, it seems like changing the Thermal Paste won't void the warranty [JAMES - 08/09/2007] Hi, thanks for your message and sorry to hear you are experiencing these problems. your warranty will be ok as long as the card is as it was when you got if you ever have to send it back. adding more paste is ok but nothing else. kind regards. james |
