Yea, why not?.. smile.gif

Like MSI NX8800GTS 320MB OC EDITION, in reviews i seen ppl o/c it from 575/1700 to 662/2020!!!... thats what i called overclocking... lol... heh  thumbup.gif

As long yer card doesnt overheat and stable o/c wink.gif

Btw, im juz wondering whats yer rig specs?... esp. yer PSU.

Cheers smile.gif

erm...my proposed rig is:
C2D6550
Gigabyte P35 DS3
2 x 1GB 667Mhz DDR2
Samsung 206BW
SG 160GB
Any DVD-RW
i am think want to get Silverstone 400W, how is it? Is it able to deliver enough juice to my rig?

QUOTE(Monster Hunter G @ Jul 13 2007, 01:48 AM)
So far I heard from some report that the MSI 8600 series runs hotter than other normal 8600 cards not only because its overclocked but its also duo to the poor thermal paste that is applied by MSI. Dunno how reliable the report is however doubt its gonna be much diffrence if it runs hotter by a few celsius or not.  wink.gif
*
really?! blush.gif then the poor cooling equipment sure limit its oc-ability doh.gif
anyway, is there any other brand got 8600GT OC edition?

There are Galaxy 8600GT which are already OC and best of includes Zalman brand heatsink fan and of course the more expansive XFX brand which is also OC.
*
May i know the price for both brands? I couldn't find it from Lowyat.net

Thats quite high compared to other 86GTS, did u oc it? Maybe u should lower it down to prolong its life. Or simply using aftermarket cooler.
*
I never oc it, because it is an OC edition thumbup.gif

I removed the casing side cover, the GPU temperature drop 3'C from 93'C to 90'C....
Currently i am using coolermaster elite 330 casing which has one exhaust fan only. I am considering to add an intake fan in front of the casing. Do you all think adding an intake fan would make sense as open the side cover only did a small temperature drop. hmm.gif

you are using stock fan or modified cooling system? There are how many fans in your casing and is your pc sitting in air cond room? I really hope my gpu also can achieve that low temperature

It seems like i need to do some works on my cooling system, changing the heat sink on graphic card is kinda costly for me... Is there any other solution for it? Note: I don't wanna open my side panel..

just install additional exhaust fan...
anyway,i've found the main problem of stutter...

its not the gfx problem or driver issue...

i just need to force vsync on in the driver............
*
got an exhaust 120mm fan already bexhaust fan or intake fan? my casingut has no intake fan..

*
you also using the same gc? you mean the gpu fan speed?? how to control the speed?
but then how come your temperature when idle so high? that's weird

oc'ed my 8600gt to 700/860mhz, getting 6782 marks in 3dmark06.. is that a nice one? But my load temp peak at 86c... which is quite damn high... which cooler should i use? Plan to get one in pcfair. But if i change the hsf, will i void the warranty?
*
Peak temp is 86'C with OC?! Mine is 93'C without OC sweat.gif Still figuring out on how to reduce the temp.
Anyway, what's your temp at idle?

don have 05 o.. maybe go download tonite. My temp at idle is around 57c if cool day, normal day is 59c, now which i consider quite heaty is 62c.
*
Your idle temp almost same with mine. I just installed a 120mm intake fan, the temp drop by 1'C but my chipset temparature increase by 2 - 3'C vmad.gif !!!
i think the problem is the gc itself, the air is blowing in opposite direction of the intake fan...perhaps the newly installed fan created turbulent in my casing when the air crash with the gc air...need cry.gif to do some analysis to solve this problem. Modifying the casing should be the only way to solve this matter...sad.......
