satria, avanza and almera... (2 already let go, except avanza)
i need to service mine as well but i think they not open during mco and if they open need to apply permit because cross interstate...
*
wow, avanza. mine is a santa fe. but was tuned super hard. used it for a couple of years then recently came back serviced and soften the ride. the old setting was harsh but awesome. 0 body roll at the expense of annual replacement of mountings. hahaha.

anyway while we're on the subject of x70, i've managed to install 2 apps in my car fully working. have tried the rest of the usual apps but its now working. need to figure out how to fix it.

vlc, waze, spotify, youtube. waze takes alot of resource.

still trying to get apple music to work. just some simple project during MCO. nothing better to do. you can find videos of the apps running in youtube.

anyway its a brutal way of forcing your IHU to install, you may run the risk of bricking your IHU. warranty is definitely out. proton link, 360 camera, settings and all the basic stuff still works.

Which coating did you opt for? Ceramic Pro? and which tinting? Mind sharing any pictures of the final result?

For me the other way round, I didn't think it was worth paying 13+k for the additional features when the basics were the same. Plus I didn't like the light brown nappa leather!
*
Haha. But all executive owners envy premium owners nappa steering.

Any tips to manage better FC for CBU unit?
I'm doing about 10.4l/100km for pure city drive on RON95.

Wondering if RON97 will give me better mileage?

Edit - I know to expect higher FC as it's a heavy SUV. Just trying to get some tips to manage better (if possible at all). please don't flame me. rclxub.gif
*
mine is between 8.3-8.9l/100km city driving

gentle on the pedal, keeping the instantaneous FC below 7l/100km.

Does coating have any relation to this part falling off? Interesting view, can you please elaborate? 😊
*
some shops open up the cover for ease of polishing near the crevice. surface prep is usually critical before coating application. so the polish wheel will be less obstructed if the cover is removed.

QUOTE(zeemoone @ Jul 21 2020, 08:40 PM)
Nope haven't done any coating only tinting but that was way back when i collected the car a year ago.
*
then its unfortunate to say the stressed covered may have experience degradation on material due to weathering.

There was one member recently mentioned in 10th Honda Civic group that his X70 FC was 6km/L! That's crazy high FC...
*
my city driving yields around 11-12 km/l . which is average. highway driving, the lowest FC I went was 15.4 km/l.

the 3 cylinder engine is ok one la.. just that its lesser refined compared to the 4 banger. But way more efficient

Anyone knows if proton planning to introduce the pro version in future?

yup, probably another 2 more years they might do the massive face lift of x70. someone is sourcing for the front lights, fender, and bumper for boyue pro just to do his own facelift transplant.

It is for the variants equipped with auto wipers.

If your windscreen breaks & you go for replacement, it needs to be recalibrated.

According to windscreen specialist websites, it will cost you rm3k.

Windscreen that does not have sensor, only cost rm1.5k
*
all variant comes with auto rain sensor. only the premium models come with front AEB/LWD camera. Only the ones with forward camera at the windscreen need calibration for ADAS based on procedure. for executive and standard they don't need any calibration if you perform windscreen replacement

Thanks for the clarification & correcting me, sir. Indeed. So the windscreen replacement for the premium variants would be more costly than the other variants.
*
Yes. Which is why I would recommend if you can dr cermin the windscreen just do it

If the PRO version needs to wait for 2 more years, then I'll have to get the x70 this year.
*
They will be focusing on introducing the other geely line up in to the RHD market. until x70 loses its traction, i highly doubt they will be aggressive in pushing another facelift within a short period.

QUOTE(de_sengal @ Jul 24 2020, 04:33 AM)
Can someone please help to confirm if CKD unlimited mileage warranty included gearbox/ transmission, engine and turbo?
The only thing that holding me from purchasing x70 is the grey area of this warranty. I'm getting mix response from different SA.

why is it a show stopper?

Because i tend to rake up mileage quite quickly. My current car almost approaching 5 years already 160k km.
And heard a lot of people complaining about the jerking of their car although it seems involving cbu units.
Thanks a lot. Transmission wear and tear included clutch pack since ckd using DCT?
*

Mazda if not mistakengives warranty up to 60k. Ckd I would presume it’s much reliable. only the test of time will tell

QUOTE(1234kingbling @ Jul 24 2020, 01:11 PM)
Yes correct. You can join the facebook group. There is a post on the warranty terms if you could like to know the specifics.

Jerking, so far mainly CBU units, but solved with TCU updates. CKD so far no issues on jerking. 1 owner had a transmission overheating warning, but when check it was a software thing rather than mechanical issue.

Again, best to check the FB group but they can get abit petty about small issues.
*
Not all jerks can be solved with tcu update.

QUOTE(nejordida @ Jul 25 2020, 12:22 AM)
Folks,
My CKD Premium came with a 2.8Bar tyre pressure on all tyres. When the tyre is hot, the pressure goes unto 2.9 or even 3.0. I am sure this is massively over-pressured for X70 CKD tyres. The driver side door mentions 2.2Bar, while some internet articles recommend 2.3Bar or even 2.4Bar. What would you recommend based on your knowledge and experience?

Thanks in advance!
*
2.8bar when it’s hot

How much did they charge for royale tinting? how does it fair so far? i did mine with platinium package, feel that its good. but now going to tint another SUV, so thinking on moving 1 level higher

QUOTE(NomNom @ Aug 3 2020, 11:21 AM)
the original spare tyre active woofer a bit disappointing. anyone upgrade it ? any recommend brand ?
*
You can consider Autocraft spare tyre subwoofer. unlike the other subwoofer that uses hard plastic or abs, autocraft outer case shell is made out of metallic material.

QUOTE(WA300 @ Aug 3 2020, 04:43 PM)
Ya, both turbocharged engine, if look at the spec sheets, the output from CRV 1.5 turbo is slightly higher and the car weight is about 120kg lower than X70...
*
CRV is much better. while everyone hates the CVT, its the only transmission which will ensure peak engine torque most of the time. so on stock standstill sprint its way faster than x70.

QUOTE(WonderfulCar @ Aug 3 2020, 09:48 PM)
update from that lady. Only TCU update. No replacement needed.
*
yes. i've spoken to the internal HQ people. apparently owners whom practice starting the car with 3 step will face this issue. if you single press brake and start, or some call it single step, this problem does not pop up

I would say its comparable to my other car 3M Crystaline. Their Royale tint is the highest spec tint they have with up to 97% heat rejection. Though front is JPJ compliance, under sun with their photochromic I love the fact outside can barely see inside the car
*
I don't have experience with 3M, but I'm hoping Royale tint is on part with vkool. by far based on my experience sitting through and owning so many cars with different tint, vkool has not contender. the only downside is its not so smart tag friendly and some claim close to a decade the tint will rust slightly.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Aug 4 2020, 09:28 AM)
noted for this. dont foresee it will trigger a bigger problem via start stop button
*
well the explanation I got was when you press once everything is running. when you press the third time the ECU restarts but the TCU still talks to the ECU. when there is a disruption in communication, the TCU logs an error and somewhat triggers overheat. it alone is a design bug. Hence the latest update should ignore the loss of communication.

QUOTE(NomNom @ Aug 4 2020, 12:34 PM)
oh! autocraft is metallic material, i didnt knew it. but they need the belt to tighten it. no like others design that can use the spare tire screw to mount it back.
i shortlist another brand MBQ, but no sure the quality
*
Not sure how its been fasten I will check with my friend who is using it. the bass pounding is real and can be heard outside.

QUOTE(Darkcity212 @ Aug 4 2020, 02:46 PM)
hi anyone figure out how to play youtube /waze while driving without floating apps??
*
Yes. Its a risky move. you will void your warranty. plus they will give you a nice call. My best advise is don't do it. get a magnet holder and play the youtube and Waze there. you will not lose the screen when the 360 camera kicks in.

QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Aug 5 2020, 09:09 PM)
Why Proton cars always have issues with TCU? That's always the answers of updating the software and/or refresh? Even this China made car also facing the same problem. I have not encountered any issues with other makers.
*
personally I think its design. China were designed to work well in cold climate. which is why with lower octane and colder intake, they will encounter lesser issues with cooling. the other reasons is refinement. generally they've ditched the slush box gearbox in favour of the dual clutch system. plus the warranty is much longer compared to the old conventional AT.
